Bailey's Septic Tank Service

It was becoming obvious we were soon going to have a back-up disaster if we didn't get our septic tank serviced, and the rep at Bailey's, Diane, worked very patiently with me to get someone out here. She not only answered my basic questions, but also informed us that there were two openings on our tank (installed in 2002), and gosh that was good to know since the last septic service person we called only cleaned from ONE opening. I'm so glad we didn't make the mistake and call that company again! Also, Baileys is one of the only Septic Tank Servicing companies in this part of the state to have a website - and I like a company that has a website! We'd already dug down to the tank lids in order to locate them for our own reference. This didn't decrease the price (some companies will knock off $10 or so if they don't have to do the digging) but I didn't care about that, my 5yo grandson had a blast helping Gramma dig! Plus, considering how much time the actual cleaning took, and how thorough Glenn, the service technician, was, $260 was a very fair price. Without being gross here, he explained how challenging the contents had become (it'd been 8 years since the last servicing, shame on us!) and that we should consider cleaning every 3-5 years. The service truck was very clean (even painted white!) and had a good strong motor, and Glenn was able to park it in our usual parking area and still reach the tank. (The man 8 years ago had parked right NEXT to the tank area, and actually got STUCK - we had to call a tow-truck to get him out!) Glenn was a very professional, good-humored, and knowledgeable individual, and I hope we see him again next time. In fact, I'm going to follow some advice I read online and have the septic tank serviced every presidential election year - somehow that seems very appropriate! (And yes, that means we'll be cleaning it again in 2 years, but better too early than too late!)
