R A Hoy Htg & A/C

The work went find, just as it did the last time we hired RA Hoy (on the recommendation of a neighbor). Both times, however, the tradesman pressured us to replace our system. The system is old, but listening to an up-sell when we have hired for repairs is not pleasant. I will be looking into other local companies for the next HVAC work I get done at the beach, and certainly for when I do decide to replace the system!

Tech corrected errors and got system operating. Also checked the system and found other installation issues and corrected them.

Technician arrived at the promised time, was courteous and willing to walk through each component and provide information/concerns. Cleaned system components, tested electrical, freon levels and pressure and changed all filters. He definitely enjoyed his work and took some extra time to make sure that I understood potential future issues. I was very pleased with the thoroughness of the inspection and his willingness to explain as he went. Sure that he could have completed it more quickly without my "assistance" but he was patient.

Heat pump dead after 21 years (miracle). Tech out in 6 hours same day (Monday), quotes Tuesday, signed contract Tuesday, permit Wednesday, install Thursday. Great service. Middle of July 95+ that week.  Fair price, quick service, responsive. Paid 1/2 half upfront, got bill for rest a few weeks later... + rebate form.  These guys are good.

The R A Hoy rep arrived on time and was very polite.  He always wore the "blue booties" while inside the house and was extremely thorough.  He was very quiet, but did an amazing job cleaning the drains, replacing all four filters, even going so far as to wash off sand on the outside units.  One unit was not working properly and he located a loose wire in the attic, repaired it and everything was included in the cost.  I was very impressed by the entire company!  I will definitely ask for Ian each time I schedule a tune up with them.

Estimator came out promptly and looked over our situation. It took a while to get back the written estimate but once we received it the total was less than two other estimates that we had received. The install was supposed to take an estimated three days but took less time than expected. The workers came in and did what they had to do and were able to work around a distressed dog who was barking her fool head off. The system has been fully functional for over a month now and we have had no problems.

I called on Thursday evening, around 4, and services were promptly provide the following day between the hours the company specified. Phillip was a great technician and provided insight on what he was doing throughout the day. I had ac by the end of the day!

Their salesman Bill checked the vents during the estimate and showed me the problem and told me how they would correct the problem. Two other companies gave me estimates but never checked the vents.  Installation took one day, excellent crew and salesman.

Everything went fine. Sent two crews to install both systems simultaneosly. Very efficient.

The original install went well.  The only glitch ultimately was that the software that communicates between the heat pump, the thermostat and the air handler needed to be updated.  That took two days to figure out.  During the original install Hoy was diligent about protecting my carpet.  Alas, when the carpet protection was removed, the problems with the software began and my carpet was a total mess by the time it was resolved.  Those poor service people must have been in and out of here 50 times!  The software problem was totally unexpected.  I can live with the carpet deal.  In the end I got a quality install for a very reasonable price.  I do need to add that when the old equipment was removed there was a lot of mold behind the old air handler.  I thought I was going to need to do a major clean up but the installation people insured me that was a part of their service.    They were true to their word and that wall looked like it had been freshly painted by the time they were done.  I am very pleased with the entire experience.  As for the carpet, it needed cleaned anyhow so it was OK.  I do recommend R.A. Hoy for Trane heat pumps.  FYI: steer clear of the Maytag units.

It went fine. Punctual and professional. It's a 20 year old unit and the tech never pressured to replace. In fact he said it could go another 5 years, run it till it breaks. I know some wouldn't recommend that but for a second home why not? I'll definitely use them for a new unit if the price is fair. Tech provided good tips and sound advice.

Everything went exactly the way the estimator described, the guys were prompt, conciencious of my home, and finished on schedule.  I was amazed at how much they got done and all in one day.  Everything is working beautifully.

I have a customer service agreement with R A Hoy. That includes two visits a year to do a preventative maintenance check on our two heat and air units. R A Hoy is always dependable. From the scheduling of the appointment to the actual service visit, they are top notch. Always on time, always courteous, very professional. They have discovered issues on a couple of occasions and completely and promptly handled them.

We bought a beach cottage that had baseboard heat and window air conditioners. They came in and installed everything and were just excellent to work with. They were very prompt and finished the work when they said they would. They cleaned up after themselves and I just cannot say enough good things about them.

We have used R.A.Hoy since day one. We have ALWAYS been treated with respect and told the truth. Their prices are no higher than any other HVAC company in the area. I always recommend them when asked.

The company was able to put us on the schedule at a time that we requested.  The tech was on time, very professional and friendly.  He was very willing to answer all of my concerns and take the time to explain some things that I did not understand regarding air-flow in two different zones.  I commended him on the company always sending someone out right away if we had any problems.

We have a service agreement contract with R A Hoy.  They come out twice a year to check the HVAC system and take any preventative maintenance steps to help keep the system running at optimal efficiency.  The technician is always on time, and does his work in a friendly, professional manner.  He listens to any issues I may be having with the equipment and checked the system components.  I feel like the company as a whole is very reputable and that I was treated fairly.  The annual contract they offer is truly the way to go in my opinion.  It is also notable that they did the install of the equipment during construction several years ago, but I didn't choose to have the maintenance contract until 2 years ago.  Well worth the investment!
