I first contacted J and J Mechanical in July of 2014 when I began thinking of replacing my heat pump system.  Justin Brown came and gave me his recommendation and detailed estimates of three choices after carefully measuring my home, ascertaining my heating and cooling needs, and answering questions.  I contacted him again in October 2015 when I'd decided to go ahead with purchasing a new system.  He again came to my home, answered all my questions, and we scheduled installation. 
The installers arrived promptly at the appointed time, removed the old components both inside and out, installed the new ones, checked to see that the system was working properly, and cleaned up everything both inside and out.
I recommend J and J Mechanical to anyone for their HVAC needs.

We are new to the area and purchased a home this year, in which the air conditioning stopped working during mid-90 degree temperatures. After 3 weeks of attempting to work with 2 other local companies without success, we turned to Angie's List. J&J Mechanical responded to our call by scheduling an appointment immediately! Justin visited us the next business day, inspected the problems, calculated the needs of our home, and presented options to us in an intelligent, informed, relaxed, and very professional manner. We were impressed with his thoroughness and knowledge. Installers Jamie and Andy arrived promptly on the day of installation and worked professionally and steadily, completing the entire installation, including explanations, by 5:00 p.m. in one day! This company followed up their installation with an on-site visit, phone call, and a scheduled county inspection. The entire experience was efficient, professional, and pleasant!

Out very old oil furnace was giving trouble. J&J gave us a recommendation of new electric furnace plus larger AC. Very professional, very punctual--they came at the time they said and stayed until the work was done (8:00a - 6:30p). They even took away the old, empty oil tank. We have been very pleased with the work. The house is warmer--we felt we received an honest appraisal and excellent work.

They said I had a leak in my coil. They added coolant and said it would cost $1100 to replace coil. They left with out me paying any money, said I would be billed. But the problem with that was I had a coupon for 10% of service, from Angie's List website. So the bill came and no discount, so I had to figure out what it was and send them the corrected amount

1. Technician showed up on time. . . .was very professional....took the time to be sure we had the right style of filters in all air returns. I have been using J&J for several years.....they installed my new Bryant heat pump in 2011....the system has performed better than expected. . .I woul highly reccommend J&J to anyone that needs good reliable service.  they don't try to "upsell" you just for the sake of upselling. If something is reccommended, you need to listen to them....they are honest and professional.  A great value.....

The service has been great overall! They fixed the problem I had, and they’ve done a good job. In fact, my neighbor uses them as well.

I never dealt with them directly, but they were the ones who set up the unit. They did a great job and I haven’t had any problems.

They’re connected with our home warranty company. They’re very good. They were very responsive, showed up when they were supposed to, and did a wonderful job!

The service was alright overall. Their price was a little steep; I got another price from a different company that quoted me alot less than what they charged.

The service worked out fine. They were running a special on an air conditioning check-up and cleaning. They showed up when they said they would and charged me what they said they would. They were courteous, thorough, gave some good recommendations and did a good job!

They called two weeks ago to schedule and appointment around my work schedule.  Their techs consistently arrive on time, are in uniform, and complete their work in a clean and professional manner.  I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I have used them in the past.  I have had a couple of units put in at my house, both upstairs and downstairs.  They had a good price.  There were a few times when I felt the service calls had been expensive.  I feel like that is true of the industry.  However, their service has been alright.  I have been generally satisfied.

They have a service contract where they will check it in the Fall and Spring and take care of the filters and other things that would need to be done.  I had that service contract with them for several years.  They are very well known in the area.  I have had very good service from them.   I have since replaced my heat pump and went with another company and am now under their contract.

Well I not only was taken advantage of but when I called the company finding out the price on the parts they did not give a d*** about me. 
              In August 2010 I needed some freon applied my neighbor had the meter used for the purpose of charging the freon tanks. I needed one pound. I ask how much the total cost would be and I was told that the charge would be $100 dollars. When the fellow was done he handed me a bill for $180 dollars. I told him that he gave me the price of $100 dollars but he then dialed the phone and then he handed it to me. This lady who must have been from the company told me that the drivers have to charge to get to the job and that is what the $80 dollars was about. I then told her that he was already here and did not move the van an inch. She told me to pay the bill or they would mark that I refused to pay the bill that was all there was to this. I so reluctantley gave them the $180 but I promised that I would never do any business with them again in my life time. I then had a neighbor that had J&J mechanics at his home. They told him that he needed a new unit on the home and the price would be $10,000 for a new unit. Here he called another company and had the an electical part the same as I had go bad which was a charge of $76 dollars to fix and the total Charge was $100. They where in the town already and only charged for the miliage that they had uses to get to the home. J&J never called my neighbor back again so when my neighbor called him  he said that the only solution would be the $10,000 to replace the unit totally. Every one on my street has been informed of the problems that we have had and most would never again use the J&J mechanical services. I aslo called Rocky Russel property management and he told me that he was going to print out a list of 5 companies so that the people living here would have a choice. I would not recomened J&J mehcanical to anyone. I also found out that they where reported to the licensing part of the state for there practicies.

I have used the annual maintenance plan.  My HVAC system was installed when the house was build and is about 11 years old.  It was installed by a company other J&J.  It is a Goodman which is consider contractor grade and is at the end of its life cycle.
J&J has done maintenance and some minor repairs (replacing capacitors).  They are one of the very few HVAC companies I would consider. 

Prompt service. Immediately knew we needed a new thermostat. Parts on the truck so no waiting. I really appreciate  all the quality work from J & J.

I am shocked at the ratings here. We have used J&J for 15 years. They installed a new gas pac and a new heat pump. Service has been prompt, efficient and professional. Prices are in line with others. We have recommended them to several neighbors who have also had a positive experience.
