We have been in business since 1987 and have been offering "Satisfaction Guaranteed ... or Your Money Back!" for over 15 years (visit our website or give us a call for more details). We employ approximately 28 people on the Outer Banks depending on the time of year with summer being our busiest time. Our technicians must pass a drug test and background check before employment. We're fully insured for liability and workman's compensation to protect you and your property. We offer flat rate pricing on service repairs and charge $75.00 for a trip charge to your home during regular working hours and $120.00 after hours. Once at the home our technician will determine your problem and give you a price before making repairs. We accept all major credit cards as well as cash and checks. We also offer 100% financing with approved credit through several different sources for both major repairs and system replacements. The cost was pricey, but the work started on time, finished on time and was performed by two very professional and courteous installers. The work was overseen by a knowledgeable professional who followed the progress from beginning to end and asked us several times if we were satisfied with the on-going installation. Carpets were protected with drop clothes and all debris was cleaned up at the end of each day. At the end of the job, Outer Banks Heating & Cooling filed paperwork for us to receive rebates from both the manufacturer and the power company. We are very satisfied and will use them for periodic maintenance on the new units.

"Thanks for taking the time to submit a review for our service. Rest assured that we're very competitive when it comes to service. As you mention it was an after hours call on a Sunday, the same work during regular working hours would have saved approximately $100.00. It's actually possible that if you had one of our Performance Service Agreements there would have been no need for the service call at all. During our Service Agreement check up we clean the condensate drain, add up to one pound of refrigerant, and also inspect a lot of other operational components and come out twice a year, all for only $159.00. If there is a need for service during the term of the Service Agreement you would also receive 15% off any necessary repairs and quite possibly extend the life of your heating & cooling system. "Thank you for the nice review. You are correct that pricing for repairs can be considerable. In the case of your unit we were able to get the factory to pay for a portion of the repair cost even though we did not install the system for you. We recommend annual maintenance on all heating & cooling systems in an effort to extend the life of the system and hopefully prevent this type of major break down and the associated expense before a failure occurs."

We have since installed internet-capable thermostats so that we can check on settings when we are away from the house and Brian's expertise, installation and follow-up were great here, too.
Overall, we could not have asked to find and deal with a better company for our HVAC needs.
