Had a scheduled time for them to come and measure. Didn't show. Received a call 1 hour later stating he was in another town, and had the date confused. He finally showed up. Had to have the installers back to fix ceramic in one of the bathrooms, as the grout lines were very uneven. Grout lines where backsplash in kitchen meets granite cracked after a few months. Talked to an employee in person who stated he would call me with a time to come and repair. Called and left several messages and never received a call back. This company is higher than competitiors, however with them being in the community for many years, and standing behind their work, you can expect to pay more. This company has an excellent repuatation in a very small town in North Carolina. It seems their customer service has suffered in the past couple of years, as other members of my family have used them in the past and had excellent customer service.

They did an excellent job of installing the floor in three room, a foyer and closet. They had to move some furniture and remove four layers of flooring from the kitchen that had built up over the years so everything is level room to room.

Design phase was a little weaker than expected but, cabinet quality and installation was good. I had a problem with a method used by the original installer and Tony came out and corrected the problem and worked with me until I was happy. What more can you ask?

Everything was done to MY Satisfaction from Removing Old product to New Installation.. I am Very Pleased with my Experience of Pilot Flooring, and I have one more room to have New flooring installed and Pilot will do it..

When Mr. Hicks, the rep. from Pilot Floor, came to my home I told him what I wanted. He began to suggest a wood look-alike product almost immediately and he told me to come to their showroom and have a look. I did go to their showroom and it was impressive. It is a beautiful showroom and very well laid out, which gave me a false sense that these people really did know their stuff. Mr. Hicks kept pushing the vinyl product, telling me that it was their best seller, would save me a ton of money and was a very fine product. Although I was prepared to spend a good amount of money on hardwood, he didn't seem interested in the profit. He was intent on my purchasing the vinyl. I thought that Mr. Hicks knew what he was saying and so I went with his suggestion. What a mistake. I have had the flooring for two years now and it is beginning to look very cheap. The transition pieces are thin and flimsy and coming up off of the floor. Some of the seams are separating. I went back to Pilot and spoke to Mr. Hicks about this problem and he pretended to listen but I was pretty sure that as soon as he heard that I wasn't buying new flooring, his eyes glassed over. I requested that someone come out and look at the problem. He told me that the installation people were too busy to come out until after the holidays. He did not offer to come out himself. He was very intent on my understanding what it would cost me if they did come out. I held my tongue and left the store. I will never use this business again, and will never recommend them to anyone. I was not looking for a refund but I thought that Pilot would at least stand behind a product they sell. Very poor customer service.

One worker was helpful but another worker was more pushing what he wanted to sell. There was a specific thing I was looking for. We made quite a trip to go over there and get samples that we'd bring home. We'd find what we'd like and they'd say that one was all out. It was more about them not helping us with exactly what we wanted as opposed to saying this is all we have and we can't help you. I'd get online and ask to see a sample, but they'd say they didn't carry it. I was trying to find a look to go blend in with the house and everything and it was just --- well, we wouldn't go back to them, because it was a very frustrating experience. He also measured the carpet that was to go on the steps wrong. They ended up ripping them up and we have more than one flight of steps. It just didn't go the way that I had experienced with carpet companies before. I just couldn't believe that someone would push, when we spent that kind of money, on selling me what they wanted me to have. Like he kept steering us to carpet that was marked down. He wasn't given us any credit on our own research that we had done. The showroom is beautiful. When I first walked in, I thought they really new what's happening with carpet. Something was just off with the whole experience. We look at it and really wish we hadn't done it. They had rushed us. I don't understand why they're trying to push you in a different area than what you're looking for. My son ended up helping them put it down. It just wasn't what I was used to.

"[Member name removed] it was great talking with you about your job and finding out more about it your original invoice was for $5630.00 and all my sales force do try to help with a customers needs and budgets as for it being out of stock we do not warehouse or stock a lot of the styles because there are so many to choose from we order direct from the mill and if they are out of stock there is no way to get the carpet until its produced and we here at Pilot try to help everyone have a pleasant shopping experience and I hope the credit coupon you and I discussed has helped ease your disappointment in Pilot Floor."

"I'm sorry to hear that you where not satisfied with your job and after reviewing our files I noticed that you made a purchase from us back in December of 2007 and I'm taking it that you where happy with the first job that we completed for you and that you purchased carpet in June of 2008 and I'm sorry that you where not happy with the out come and I'm sorry to just be learning that you where not happy I have made numerous attempts you to call you but it seems that both numbers we have on file or no longer in service or its someone else's number I'm unable to look back at the 2008 files as for the drawings only our online files or available to see your invoice I would have liked to come out and see if your job could have been installed with less material T-Seems are common in the installation process to try and cut down the waste factor and I'm willing to come and check you job if you would like to give me a call I can be reached at 336-923-7203 this is my direct extension and again I'm sorry to just be learning of your dissatisfaction."
