Appliance Solutions

The oven was perfect in the width but a little short for the space. David installed additional wood that matched the grain of the wood in our kitchen. All that is left for us to do is stain the wood. He had to move the electrical box and do some cutting to get the cord from the stove to the box to fit, but he did it. He had to cut the space larger for the cooktop, and again, excellent work. David was very professional and skilled. We also needed a double outside spot light installed on the second story and he agreed to do that for us. He hauled away the old oven and the old cooktop as well as the boxes and cleaned up the area. When you have appliances to install you better call David Halstead or you will regret it. David quoted us a cost of $325 but we paid him $350 - well earned!!!!

This is the 2nd time I have contracted David Halstead to install Wolf-Sub Zero appliances in my kitchen.  He is the ONLY person I would used to install my appliances whether Wolf or not. 

He is a very meticulous craftsman and his knowledge of wood fabrication (to prepare the shelving for the installation), electrical requirements and the actual installation are excellent.

If you have new cooktops, ovens, microwaves etc  to be installed - I highly recommend David Halstead.

Note: Hart Appliance, a local Wolf dealer, used Halstead as well.

NOTE:  It never got off the ground, because David only does INSTALLATIONS, not repairs.  He also said that he has informed Angie's List of this fact, but no updates have ever been made about him on Angie's List. In order to lessen his frustrations and not waste customers' time by us leaving messages for return calls from David, it would be very helpful to everyone if he was listed under APPLIANCE INSTALLER, INSTALLATIONS, etc.

David did an excellent job. He came at the time he said he would. The installation looked excellent. He even cleaned up some trash left by the people who delivered the appliances to my home, which was obviously not his responsibility. Compared to my other options for the installation his price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Appliance Solutions.

I called David at 12pm today to see if would install our new washing machine and pedestal. He said he would call back when he could schedule. David called back at 3:30pm and said he could do the job today and could be here at 5pm. I couldn't believe he would respond that quickly but said o.k. to come. David and his help arrived at 5pm. Turns out his two sons were helping today. I showed them the problem with the staircase (the utility room is on the second floor of our townhome). Before I go further, I had been turned down 3 times from different companies because they said it couldn't be done. However, David said it could and they began working. The whole time they were working, I didn't hear any bad language or witnessed bad behavior; David and his sons were professional and actually enjoyed what they were doing. The new washing machine weighed 300 lbs. and the stairwell was narrow, and we have a chairlift installed. The amazing thing is they didn't leave any scratches on the walls or floors. I didn't realize it until they were ready to leave that they had to drive an hour back home. I was really impressed with David and his willingness to do even hard jobs.

Excellent. I usually do these kind of things around the house myself. Given the weight of the double oven unit and the need to cut into the cabinets to accomodate the larger unit, I decided to hire the work out. Glad I did.
David was most professional, careful and thorough.

Overall experience from beginning to end was most pleasant the efficient. David called to notify me he was on the way. He introduced himself briefly before getting to work. He protected the ceramic surface stove under the microwave, He cleaned up and hauled away the old oven. He was pleasant, efficient and informative.

I got "Appliance Solutions" name/ph from Hart Appliance where I bought my Wolf equipment and when I asked who could install it, the response was, "call Appliance Solutions, David is the "Wolf Installer" in this area. He's our top appliance installer" Well that was good enough for me! I called David Halstead and discussed what I had and what I wanted to do. He came over the next day and looked over the situation and took a lot of measurements to make sure everything would fit properly (cut new hole in granite, remove/replace, etc) and gave me a quote that day. I accepted and work began the following week.
- He showed up on time with all equipment required to complete the job
- During conversations with him I found out that he has been an "appliance installer" for over 10 years and has installed hundreds of kitchen appliances (not all Wolf!).
- The best way to describe his work is: professional, "precise" and conscientious.

We were very satisfied with his work and I whole heartidly recommend Appliance Solutions to anyone.
