The initial mitigation was fine, although they did not turn in the paperwork correctly to my insurance for over a month. Their project manager for the repair and remodel came and gave me an estimate, which did not include prices for the plumber, shower framing, or glass shower doors. We were told that we needed to put down a deposit of half the total estimate, but no work would be done without our approval. As they had been negotiating with our insurance, and we had never done this before, we agreed. We had to wait to get our insurance payout, which took a month since they failed to include our claim number on the estimate. Once completed, we paid the deposit. Lisa, our project manager, kept saying she would have subcontractors in to give prices, but took another month before a framed came. It was another two weeks before she got a plumber who gave an insanely high quote of $3200 to move a put shower pipe to another wall, move the drain, plug the tub pipe, and hook up the vanity. She also said we needed to replace the pipes since ours were “illegal”. She said it was a great price. When I asked around I found out that it was more than twice as much as any of my neighbors have paid for similar work, and that our pipes were not illegal. When I spoke with Lisa, she asked me to get her recommendations, which I thought strange. I did get her to names, she said one of them said he could not do the work, and the other was not available. I did question her as to why she was not able to get names as this is what she did for a living. She had another person come in who gave a quote of $2200 which would include the framing of the shower the tile, and all the plumbing minus the pipe replacement. I felt that this was a good deal, however, my husband wanted to get the Workmans bonded papers to show that he was insured. Lisa was very hesitant to give me his name, but agreed to get me his insurance info, and that they would start the next day. The next day they were supposed to show up and begin work, and my husband took off to make sure he was there. They no-showed, and Lisa texted me at 3pm to tell me they couldn’t do the work after all, and asked me to contact her office for a return of the deposit. This was after 3 months of waiting! Granted, the holidays fell in this, but we agreed to the work on October 30, and today is January 4th. The owner did have the office administrator call me to see if they could have someone else work with me, but we do not trust them now. We now have a half demolished bathroom, and no contractor. Although they were fine for the water mitigation, I would never recommend using this company for a remodel.
