The first thing was that the lines were clogged, the tech came out on a Saturday and told us that he could fix it that Monday. Okay, that's fine, it was a mild weekend and it was kind of working. I received a call from them saying it would not be Monday and that the tech was not supposed to make such promises. They pushed me back till the end of the week. After finally getting that fixed, the compressor went out about a week or so later. I called them and they sent a tech to confirm what was wrong and he said "I'll order it and have it Monday and can fix it Monday or Tuesday." Fine, again, it was luckily going to be a mild weekend. Monday rolls around and I called them to see when they were coming over (my brother was going to meet them there to let them in) they said no, it would be Friday at the earliest since the part had to be ordered. No one told me that! Again, the tech had promised more than they could deliver. Well Friday it's going to be over 95 degrees and I have a 2 year old and no where really to go to keep her cool overnight. We have fans but they only do so much. The woman on the phone offered to expedite the part and could have it a day or two earlier, at this point, I was done with their empty promises (I admit I got a bit distraught and cried a bit since I was so frustrated, I called back later to apologize to the woman for being so emotional and for hanging up mad, it's not her fault, but I was at my wits end), knowing them, they would get the part in but not get out to my house till Friday no matter what. So I called another company and had it filed under my home warranty. The new company got the part in on Tuesday, came over Wednesday and installed it. The only problem is that when he turned the unit on the part that fueled the compressor is bad which caused the compressor to die in the first place. The new guy was astonished that the other techs had not seen this or even checked it. So now we've ordered that other part and the new guy said the moment he has it in his hands, he will have it installed. Then I called All Year to tell them to just drop us as customers and they had the nerve to tell me that since they had tried to expedite the part they were going to bill me for the expedited shipping! I'm not paying for that since their techs not checking systems is what brought me to this point in the first place! Will NEVER use again and will tell everyone that I can to never use them as well.

Overall, it went OK, I guess. They did a so-so job for HVAC work for this area (NC). Regardless, this is Kernersville, which I think is a higher standard. I believe I paid more overall and expected more in return.
POSITIVE: They were typically agreeable to work with. The duct work was OK overall. They put white goop on the duct seams, which I had never seen done before. This makes it more air tight. They did a good job overall in cutting wholes through the floor for the vents.
NEGATIVE: Instead of using expanding insulated sleeves for the duct work, they used regular insulation and duct tape. They thought they did a good job, but in some places the tape and insulation came undone within two weeks. A sleeve would not become untaped, there is no tape.
One place where they cut a whole through the floor, they had to snake the duct work to twist around. If they had just moved the floor vent a few feet one way, this would not have been necessary.

For one new supply duct, my guess is that they ran out of metal duct, so to make what they had work, they repositioned my dryer duct. I thought this was dangerous. The metal dryer duct work was already a 25 foot +/- run to the outside. Dryer lint is a major source of house fires. I did not want any kinks in my dryer duct work to cause a house fire.
My house has a crawl space. Where they installed a floor vent in the far side of the crawl space, they threw the wooden pieces of the cut flooring in an obscure corner and left it. I thought this was lazy and unprofessional. They thought I would never see it. Guess what, I saw it.
Upon my request and with my initial refusal of payment, they did fix most of my issues except for the biggest one.
The biggest problem I had with them was that I specifically asked them to wire my Skuttle Steam humidifier to NOT control the furnace blower. They failed. It was wired differently at least twice but this still did NOT fix the problem. They could have used a mechanical sail as a switching mechanism but they refused or couldn't figure it out. Their final solution was to lower the humidifier setting so it would not engage the furnace blower, thinking I would not notice it until I paid them their money. Sometimes in the winter my house blower runs for DAYS because the humidifer keeps it activated.
Jason pressured me into paying All Year before I was satisfied with the work they did. He made me feel like I was a skum bag, like I was not going to pay them or I was asking too much for giving me what I requested.
After the fact, I learned that both Honeywell and Aprilaire humidier models allow homeowners the choice of 1). Having the humidifier control the furnace blower until the humidity levels rises sufficiently (ACTIVE) or 2). Requiring the furnace blower to be active AND the humidistat to be engaged to activate the humidifier (PASSIVE). This was NOT available with the Skuttle Steam humidifier.

I would NOT use All Year again, at least until they fix my problem. I am currently seeking someone else to upgrade my Skuttle Steam humidifer to use a sail switch and 240v model AND to use an Aprilaire bypass humidifer to be the primary humidier, that has a switch mechanism allowing it to NOT control the blower.

They replaced both outside AC units. One of them began leaking immediatly. They came out several times and never could find the leak. Finally they told me that I needed to have both my coils cleaned and that would solve the leak problem. They wanted 1600.00 to clean the coils. I agreed because I assumed they were telling me the truth. They arrived on time, 2 men around 9:30 AM. They were finished at 11:00 am. I asked the young man how the coils looked, he responded, " They looked fine, no issues at all" I pressed him further and he confirmed that they did not really need to be cleaned. I was very upset. They estimated the cost at $1600.00 for 2 men for 1.5 hours for something that did not even need to be done. No parts, just labor. To make matters worse it did not actually fix the leak problem. I have had to recharge the downstairs ac unit twice a year since they installed a brand new unit. It has cost me hundreds and hundreds of dollars in service costs. I was so upset that I refused to pay the bill. The "estimater" for this company is very very aggressive in his estimates and his demeanor. He called me on the phone and threatened me if I did not pay the bill. I still did not pay. They submitted the false bill to the credit bureau, not once but twice as a form of harrasment. The false bill is still on my credit today. I spoke with the owner of the company a few months ago to try to reach a settlement. He agreed to accept $600.00 but refused to remove the collection. He said he would mark it paid as a settlement, but not paid in full. I refused to pay. This company is very aggresive. They pay their employees on commission and look the other way when they are dishonest. Then they act like the victim. I would advise all elderly people to avoid these guys. I finally hired a company that did come out and fix all my problems at one time for a very reasonable price. He told me that he used to work for them years ago and left because of these type things. He told me that he has repaired a lot of their repairs. In closing, these guys tell you you need work that you do not need and they overcharge for it. Be careful. Very aggressive company.

The service person arrived within the time frame I was given, but I considered the person late as I was told I had the first appointment of the day. After taking the blower outside to clean, the service person asked if I would like to inspect the part before cleaning. I did and saw nothing but some dust on the blades. The service person (who was different from the service person recommending the cleaning) admitted the blower was not very dirty and he probably would not have recommended the cleaning. I'm very glad I did not fall for the coil cleaning scam! Reputable companies should not recommend unnecessary repairs or maintenance. Will not be using the company again.
