"Tom, Thank you for your review as we are always looking for ways to improve. The quality of our clients? final product and their happiness are at the forefront of everything we do at Southern Scapes. As you acknowledge, there were serious supply chain issues at the time of your tentative installation date. Despite it being common practice by Southern Scapes to order fiberglass pool shells immediately upon receiving a signed installation agreement, there were unprecedented delays due to manufacturing issues and a shortage of raw materials. Likewise, there is an incredible labor shortage locally as well, which means it is sometimes difficult to give our clients. a ? play-by-play? as to when someone will be at their property. Our agreement addresses this. Tom May did his best to coordinate with you via texts, calls, and emails. Unfortunately, spring is the busiest time for pool builders and their subcontractors because everyone wants their pool in time for summer. While we do our best to schedule when convenient for the customer, we also must work around the schedules of our electricians, concrete suppliers, concrete installers, fencing installers, masons, and carpenters. Because our vendors and subcontractors are separate companies, they also have other clients as well as labor and material concerns -all of which is unprecedented at this time in the construction business. Like you, many clients make last-minute changes to concrete or other aspects of their job after the agreement is signed, which can delay their project and other projects as well. We do apologize if you felt our communication was insufficient. Our agreement is based on more than 20 years of experience in the industry and addresses common issues and concerns. It provides our clients peace of mind that when we provide a price and detail our scope of work, it is clear and does not change. When a customer changes the scope of the project and the contractual agreement, these are addressed via change orders and/or invoices. Despite the price increases during the year from which Tom priced your project, he did not pass along these costs to you. As you acknowledge, he is a man of his word. It appears your main concern was your concrete as you state all other aspects (pool, pool equipment, electrical) were completed to your satisfaction. While some statements in this review are inaccurate, we acknowledge there were a few areas of concern. In the rare event, there is an issue or area of concern due to product failure or workmanship, we will cut out and replace those sections at our cost. Concrete, by its nature, cracks. We do our best to minimize cracking including, but not limited to, properly placed control joints, addressing environmental conditions at the time of the pour, and the concrete product mixture. Cracks within the first month are generally caused by plastic shrinkage, which can be minimized when clients? water? their concrete the first week or so to slow the curing process. As a result of your project, we actually added more information regarding this in our installation agreement. Lastly, we will be sure to share images of different concrete finishes. Your installation agreement stated standard broom-finished concrete, which is what was installed. Rather than cut out the few sections of concrete, Tom May agreed to remove all of your concrete - which we have never done before - at Southern Scape expense to re-pour a new deck in an attempt to make you happy. It also provided an opportunity for you to change your finish and upgrade your concrete to stamped at our cost for material and labor. You chose to install a broom-finished concrete deck again. Do you state the concrete finish is the quality of a ? garage floor?. We apologize if you do not like the broom finish, but it is what you agreed to initially in your agreement and requested with the subsequent pour. Pictures are available upon request."
