I have been using them for five and a half years, ever since I moved here.

It was a Trane heating and air conditioning. I have used them for years. They are professional.
They are overall very efficient and always on time. I haven?t had any issues. It took about three and a half hours to install.

They came out after we discovered our ac would not turn on during the first hot day of spring. Their dignostic resulted in a switch being replaced and a leak fixed on the outside unit. They told me it would be $1000 to fix it. It took them a week to come back. The estimate consisted of a tech writing a number on a piece of scrap paper. I told them to do the work but I wanted an invoice with itemized charges on it. I wanted know exactly what part they replaced, how much freon was used, and how many labor hours were charged. After I got a bill without any specifics on it I called to request an itemized bill again. After calling 5 times over a two month period I get a nasty note saying I need to honor my debts. I fully planned on paying my bills if I knew what I was paying for. Besides that irritation, they didn't fully fix the problem. Three months later the ac breaks again and we call a different company. They tell and show me a now huge leak in the unit in my attic. It is obvious that it has been leaking for well over 6 months because of all the rust and corrosion on the leaking part and surrounding areas. Now I have another huge bill to pay to fix the origional leak issue and the damage that was done by ignoring it for another 3 months.

My heat pump unit stopped working on 4 July. Didn't worry too much until got too hot that the dogs wouldn't bark. I tried to find a company that would be available soon. One company didn't answer phone. Another company said they could get to me in 2 weeks. A third company said they could maybe stop by tomorrow afternoon. I called Kellum and the lady on the phone stated that she could have someone there in the morning. Great! He showed up around 0930 and went straight to work. Around 1130 he was done. He told me what was wrong and that I made him earn his pay that day. Worth every dime! The lady on the phone stated that for new customers that it would be a minimum of $72 and would have to be paid at time of service. I said 'No problem". The last time I had an issue with my heat pump it cost me $240 for a capacity that took 15 minutes to troubleshoot and 5 minutes to change. This company had to do more work for longer and half the price.

Quoted at $150 each but the bill was $800. The work was good but twice the estimate.

On 3/1/2010 I had Kellum heating and air come to my house to repair my home heat pump system. The air handler(inside unit) blower motor was bad. The tech troubleshot the system and replaced the motor, capacitor and mounting bracket for $290 for parts. In addition I had him check the coolant level and clean the coils in the air handler. $140 labor charge for a total of $430. I found the cost reasonable. On 4/16/2010 I had no cooling from the heat pump system. The fans inside and outside were blowing. I opened the air handler and found the coils to be encased in a block of ice. From past experience I knew that the system was low on coolant . I am certain that the serviceman from Kellum heating and air conditioning checked my cooolant level and failed to do a check of the valve used to fill and check the coolant. The schrader valve (similar to the valve in your car tires) is something that can leak and any tech should check to see it is not leaking before leaving a job. I am convinced that the tech failed to do a basic service function correctly causing me an additional $135 charge. The reason I had the Kellum firm come the second time no one elese would show up for 2-4 days and the outside temp was 95 degrees plus. I have waited til today ,5 Aug 2010, to ensure that the problem was the schrader valve not some other fault with the system before making this report. The temps have been even higher and I have experienced no other problems. The replacement of the blower motor and capacitor seemed to be good. But the failure of one simple proceedure cost me money and discomfort. I do not recomend Kellum heating and air conditioning for any repair. Its the little things that make a difference in service. The reason I didn't bring up my suspicions that the first tech had failed to do a proper job was I feared a higher bill. It would have been easy for the tech to invent a "new" problem to cover his last mistake. Had he done this then the bill would have been even bigger. I figured that if I had gotten another firm to do the repair it would have cost about the same. The Kellum tech did not give a reason for the "missing" coolant he just charged me for the service. We are at the mercy of service companies and I go out of the way to to stand behind the good ones. Best to all, Mike.

I called them around 0900; they came around 2 that day. Replaced a contactor and fuse. Labor $75 parts $55. I didn't know what to expect; but I thought this was a fair price.

It was 95 degrees outside. They were the company that originally did the installation and it was still partially under warranty so I used them. They were fantastic. I called another place and they wanted a fee to come out. They provided very, very quick service and they were very professional. They were very honest and upfront. I had another quote for $1,400 and their charge was $400. Their pricing was better and I would use them again if needed.
