This is my second time obtaining a mortgage from Navy Federal Credit Union (the first was a refinance). Both times, the mortgage process went extremely well . Navy Federal is straight forward, and has shown me nothing but exemplary customer service. They have been quick to return calls. They really care about my interests just as much as their own. Way to go Navy Federal!!! It is rare to find this good of customer service these days! (Of note, in order to become a member, last time I checked, you need a family member that is a member (an uncle that is a member should be fine, I think), or need to be active or a veteran of any branch of service.) - Note, Navy Federal, while based in VA, has locations nationwide.

They were not to happy when I filed bankruptcy. They turned from nice to mean really easy. It is typically for federal employees, or if a family member is a federal employee.
