Carolina Comfort Air Inc - Jacksonville

If I could give this place zero stars I would. They have come to my home to "fix" my AC unit the past 3 weeks. Each time they "found" another problem, and up charged me each time. I am now sitting in a 90 degree home with 4 toddlers, after there 4th attempt to "fix" my unit. I will be contacting the BBB , and requesting a refund so my AC unit can be fixed through another company. This company does not care about anyone's wellbeing/health and is money hungry... called them 8 times today and I believe they are ignoring my calls at this point.

James was by far the best HVAC Tech I have received from y’all. He was very knowledgeable and was teaching me things about the items I never knew about. If he was up for a raise that man is definitely due for one. Would love to have him in the future if we ever experience problems again.

They found that my old HVAC system was pulling air from the attic. They boarded it up, sealed it and fixed the problem without adding to the price. I did not even have to negotiate this free add on, they just did the work and told me about it when the job was completed. Started working at 8:30 am prompt and left after 7:00 pm due to the extra work. Adhered to Covid-19 practices, cleaned up and vacuumed when the job was completed. Great crew, thorough, professional and polite. I was 100% comfortable having them in my house. Dylan was methodical about explaining how the remote thermostat worked and patiently helped me set it up online. He also explained the 10 year warranty, even going as far as how to transfer the warranty if I sell the house. It was refreshing to have a crew in here with work ethic which is hard to find at the beach. 5+ stars straight across the board for Carolina Comfort Air Inc - Jacksonville.

Jeffery got there when scheduled. Was very polite and professional. Checked all systems found the one that needed replaced. Managed to bypass that one so I would have air coming in until they get the part that was ordered. Would recommend them if you need heating or air conditioning work

The whole process was great... the sales people were great and provided exactly what would be installed and how. The installers were very considerate and very good. A highly professional company from start to finish....

Fixed it , gave discount because our system is only two years old , so really not sure why a part would go in it. But he discounted it for us. Anthony was very nice and informative , he needs a raise. You want to keep him. We own a business , good people are hard to find.

It was great! Jeffrey was very patient when the vivint thermostat did not work. Jeffrey actually talked with Vivint Rep. It did not work... Jeffrey replaced with our original thermostat. It should have been an easy and quick. Jeffrey was AWESOME!

Robert was great! Called from the road to tell when he was coming, which was exactly the time frame I was quoted when the appt was set up. He was well informed, patient w my million questions, and tidy. Great experience! And the unit is working excellent now.

If it wasn’t for Jeffery and his professionalism, we probably wouldn’t have the peace of mind we currently have due to a job well done! Thanks Jeffery!

I want to start off saying this was on a Sunday. Can you believe that! Jeffery Palase arrived about an hour later after my initial call. He went right to work being very professional answering all of my questions. Even though it wasn't raining he still covered his boots when checking inside thermostat unit. He also went thru every possible thing he could to make sure my unit was running at its best. i would recommend his services to all of my friends and family. Actually he should be a partner with the company or owning one perhaps again Top Notch Service.

Great, Steven Pickering was the tech who helped us. He found that the problem was ba bad sensor and quickly replaced it and then checked out the entire system. Very professional, courteous and knowledgeable!

All went well. Anthony was very kind and professional. He was very knowledgeable and informative. He is an awesome guy. Thanks Anthony.

Absolutely fantastic

It went great every tech that they sent here was on time, professional, and knew what they were doing. The service call was very prompt which surprised me being how very busy they are. The techs even took time to educate me on my system and how it works.

1/8/2017 Update: I awoke this morning to a house that was 67 degrees though the thermostat was set to 73. The company had been here November 28th because the weather had turned cold and the system they installed couldn’t get the house above 69 degrees. Since that time, it had not been extremely cold, but our electric bills have been approximately $300/month, again, higher than ever… Also, I was contacted by CCA home office in Clayton, NC, and asked that I remove all of my reviews. I did remove some, but not all, and I’m glad I did not. They also asked Angie’s List to shift the review from Clayton, their home office, to Jacksonville, so that it showed up in a much smaller market. On top of that, they sent a reply to Angie’s List stating, “We have spoken with this homeowner and have corrected all of the issues and the homeowner is happy.” If that was the case, would I be here again?? When you hear the phrase, “It’s hard to stop a Trane,” believe it, because short of pulling the breaker from the system, it will never shut off and will send your electric bill through the roof! This is ridiculous now! When it gets cold, call CCA to fix the heat. When it gets hot, call CCA to fix the A/C. This has happened with every season change since the new Trane system was installed. Please do not even consider Trane or CCA if you are looking for a new HVAC system for your house. 2/7/2016 Original review: Absolutely the worst! Not to be trusted. The technicians do not know what they are doing. We upgraded to a "better" Trane system. Problems started with installation. Did not have the right parts. Had to get them from another location. Then, I was told they had to install lower wattage heat strips because the wiring in the home (9 years old) would not support the new ones. The techs said it wouldn't make a difference. System was installed in the fall, in NC location. First time it got warm enough to run the A/C, the entire house began to sweat, inside! They came out and said there was humidity left on the coils... Whatever... Every time the A/C is started, the humidity inside jumps to 70%. Now, it's winter and cold. The system cannot keep up. It is always cold inside. The electric bills are higher than they have ever been! This is a more efficient system?? B/S! Absolutely crap. The heat strips are obviously not sufficient to heat a two story home. I have an $8000 boat anchor attached to my home now. Now, on another service call, they come out and say "it's like trying to fill two buckets with one hose." Their explanation!!! They have been out four times now. No resolution. Even Duke Energy has sent a notice that our electric usage is higher than it has ever been and higher than other homes in our area. I have the facts as I am sure they will try to rebut this review.

Called to get Carolina Comfort Air Inc and spoke to Leslie, she arranged for a tech to visit and I'm having a bad feeling about their work. I have no choice at this point but to use them because they cover the warranty on my parts since they were the one's who installed the unit in my house. I've had horrible experience with them during the winter then spring, they had to come to my house 3 times., one after the other and have charged me several hundred dollars per visit. I've wondered if this was their standard business practice. I guess I'll see what happens when they look at my unit again.

It went great. The technician and dispatcher keep me informed every step of the way. Will definitely call them in the future!

Great! Very pleased with their service. I have agree to work with them with a third property from now on. I liked the detail of the work performed and how it was described in their invoice.
