I go to Ironton because it is the closes vet to me with the best price and speedy service. But I just don't know if I can keep going there after my last visit. I was so disappointed. I brought a batch of puppies in to get a health check, and I brought the mother too. First off the vet hardly acknowledged I existed, he seemed kind of out there and didn't make any friendly connections. When I told him I was concerned about the mother dog because her coat was so thin and that one spot was almost totally bald, he asked me if she was scratching and biting a lot. I said no. He said that I must not be seeing her scratching and biting, that she had fleas and the baldness was caused by her being sensitive. I told him that she didn't loose hair like that til after she had puppies and he never answered. The whole time he had the attitude that I was a lousy person who didn't take care of my dog. I know that mother's blow their coat after having puppies, and it is normal for their coats to get then. I was just concerned that it was so thin and I was hoping he would tell me what to vitamins or supplements to give her to help her coat out. It could not have been fleas because this happened after she had puppies and she started shedding like crazy. It could not be that I just wasn't seeing her scratching and biting herself because she is always inside and I'd notice if she was going crazy scratching. He did a health check on the puppies but did not tell me anything about them or confirm that everything was great, I just had to assume since he didn't tell me otherwise. The only thing going for this place is location and price. But I think I'm just going to have to drive a ways to get the service I want for my dogs. I felt like he was not listening to me and that asking questions was useless.

My dogs are all on the wellness plan. They are very compassionate and very thorough with their treatment of your animals. They understand that they are part of your family. They are our veterinarian and they also have a very nice channel that's not just a cage.

They gave me some good advice over the phone about how to help the chicken's digestion. I did not need to take the chicken in to see the vet so there was no charge.

They are very good with their scheduling. I love that the doctor is very straight forward and does not sugar coat things. Their pricing is wonderful, we had to have my labs knee replaced and their rates were far better from what other people that had to have this same procedure performed on their dogs told me.
