Wade Griffin Roofing

We called Wade Griffin Roofing on Thu, 3/5, having heard dripping within our walls, and seeing a small (1 sq ft) stain on our garage ceiling.  Forrest came out *after* his quitting time (around 6:00p), and looked at the roof (from a ladder) in the rain.  He determined the problem, and agreed to fix it promptly, after taking care of an existing roof job that was only partially completed.  We were in complete agreement that the partial job should be completed before our repair.  (We would want the same treatment.) 

The rain had stopped Thu evening.  Forrest came Mon afternoon, 3/9 and completed repairs, including a repair of a possible ice issue that he found when on the roof.  (Preventive maintenance.)  Note, we did not have access to the interior wall at which the leak was initiating, and, thus, couldn't determine exactly where it had occurred.  Forrest sealed in several places to make sure that the proper one was found.  (If necessary, in the future, I will remove a portion of the wall to find any other issues.)

To summarize, Forrest left his family after hours to see our problem; committed to fix it by a certain date; fixed it as scheduled (a little earlier, actually), and charged a reasonable amount.

He had installed a new roof for us 4 years ago, and did an excellent job.  He has helped us one other time earlier this year when a metal furnace flu had been moved by severe winds, and began a slight leak.

His service has been exemplary.  I will continue to recommend him, and use him (hopefully rarely) when needed.

Update 3/17/2015.  We had a serious rain, and no leaking occurred.  The problem is fixed.

They were excellent! The roof has held up very well. It's probably 15 years old now. The roof is in great shape. Mr. Griffin was an older gentleman. The folks that work for him when they came to put it on picked up after themselves. There weren't any nails or shingles lying around. They just did a great job. The fact that the roof has been in great shape for 15 years, and he told me he was putting a 30-year shingle on, clearly it has been living up to that guarantee. If I have issues again, they will be the company I will call.

Forrest and his team were all professional and responsive. They came out to do the work when they said they said and called to give me exact time windows. They cleaned out the gutters while they were on the roof. They swept up the debris that feel both inside the attic where the work was done and outside the house. They came out to do the repairs asked and did NOT try to do a sale or convince me of other problems. Forrest personally followed up on everything to make sure our job was right until the end.

GREAT!    Well trained workmen did a superior job on my roofs---both shingled roof and flat roof.   After the roofs were completed, clean up was thorough.  I am impressed with the job they did from beginning to end.   I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who wants a detailed job description and estimate of costs, fast and efficient workers who carry out the job as described and a most impressive clean up.   Everyone was very friendly and professional.

This is the second time we have used Wade Griffin Roofing.  They replaced the roofs in 1995. I sought out the company for the recent job.  I trust the company and Forrest Patterson, the owner.  It is reassuring in this day and time to know a good, reputable company.  I would use them again!

Overall everything went smoothly. I had used them 10 years ago to install the roof because of their professionalism fixing a leak I had had previously. Their price was good.  I would highly recommend them..

I was very pleased with all aspects of the job from initial contact, inspection/quotation to completion of the roof installation. The Griffin crew was very punctual and did a very good job from beginning to end.  It's a real plus that most of his crew are long time employees (no subs) and they know the roofing business.   I did find a few errors that were made during the installation but they were immediately corrected.  I greatly appreciated the fact that Forrest was very insistent that I be completely satisfied with the job and he acted promptly to address any concerns or questions I raised.Sent one of his roofers back after the installation to clean up a little more and correct a vent installation.  Great follow through. 

They did an ok job. They came out, caulked the area & nailed down a guard that a nail had popped out of.

This roofer is very professional, thorough and polite.  He removed a layer of shingles and inspected the roof for any rotten wood underneath.  He also checked out damage from a tree that had previously fallen on the garage.  The roofers then installed new architectural shingles, put in a ridge vent and cleaned up the area thoroughly,  It is 100% improved.  We highly recommend Griffin Roofing.

Wade Griffin Roofing (Forest Patterson) first inspected my roof (at my request) when he was doing a neighbor's roof. He found hail damage, and indicated that I should contact my insurance companies appraiser before he would consider fixing it. I did so; the appraiser agreed that the damage was substantial, and the insurance company agreed to pay a significant portion of the roof (which was 12 yrs old -- depreciation was acceptable). Forest's quote was reasonable, and I had seen the excellent job he had done on my neighbor's roof. He helped us choose a color of a 50+ year ("lifetime guarantee) shingle, and agreed to perform the work.  When we had a question about color (which is notoriously poor on small samples), he led us to several houses in our neighborhood with the colors that interested us.

He and his crew were here on schedule, every day that could be worked. (Well, almost. They took Thanksgiving off!) They worked h****** a very steep roof.  The job was finished fairly quickly, but the emphasis was on 1. Leaving the roof each day in a water-tight condition; and 2) doing a quality job, including all new flashing, boots, and ridge vents. The crew all worked hard, and were clearly experienced -- some with > 20 yrs.  We had several days of hard rain in the middle of the job, with no leaking.  Forest was on the job each day.

Bottom line is that I offered Forest a letter of recommendation, as a professional engineer, and would recommend him to anyone. I note that my insurance adjuster warned me about all the new roofing companies that had sprung up in my area after two serious hail storms, and how several had lied about their history and longevity, took advance payments, and never showed up. Griffin was exactly the opposite. They showed up promptly when scheduled, worked hard, efficiently, and competently, and finished in a reasonable time. It was a blessing to find them.  Cleanup was qutie satisfactory.  Of course, I was somewhat more picky than the crew, but had a hard time getting a portion of a small grocery bag of very small shingle pieces.  The several tons of shingles were all hauled off by Griffin.  Almost all nails were found and picked up, but Forest permitted me to borrow his magnet to go over the shrubs one more time.  (Found very few.)  The shrubs were well protected as the tons of old shingles came off the roof.

Only negative is that the crew ate all my wife's cookies, and left none for me!

Three quotes were received to replace the shingles of the house's roof. Griffin Roofing provided the lowest quote with identical products quoted by the other two companies. A team of six Griffin Roofing employees showed up on time each of the six days required to complete the roofing shingles replacement. The team took extra care to remove the old shingles, ridge vents and vent collars. Because there were numerious new plantings around the house, it required the team to be especially careful to protect those plants. Forrest Patterson, Griffin Roffing owner, was on site most of every day to keep on top of details. Forrest was great to deal with on all issues of this project, from the quote stage through the final payment stage.

They did an excellent  job, were on the job bright and early each morning until everything was completed. They only complaint I might have is they didn't clean up as well as they could have around the outside of my house when they were finally finished, but that's the only thing. The workmanship was excellent!

The crew were all extremely courteous and they all worked hard. You never saw any of them just standing around. They all worked hard until the job was done. Great company to work with.

Forrest and his company ran up against a comming together of unrelated circumstances which prevented his company from "doing" our roof.  He explained the situation, expressed his apology and sent us our $$ back.

If we still need a new roof and Forrest is available, we would use his service with out hesitation.  A business and a man are only as honorable as how well they perform when there are problems.  Forrest does the next right thing.....Mel Frank

Never responded to my calls

They were knowledgeable and answered my questions well, but were the highest of the four quotes I received.  In the end, I chose another Angie's List provider.

I was surprised when they told me my roof was good.  What I was seeing were vents that were placed there intentionally by the roofers.  I had just not noticed them before.

They charged me only the minimum fee for coming out.

HIghly recommend this company for timely work, reasonable cost and professional roof repair and replacement.  You will not hear
music blaring, shouting, and abuse of property with this team.

EXCELLENT. The work was done at my parents after researching on Angies list and the BBB. Could not be more happy with the service and quality. They exceeded our expectations.

I contacted Griffin Roofing along with several other companies. I received the proposal exactly when promised and after agreeing on the contract, the work began the next day. The work was completed in 3 days and I have received several followups since completion of the work. I am very satisfied for the work done at a very competitive price.

Excellent. Grayson from the company came on time, gave a quote very quickly and and finished the repair promptly. The repair involved fixing two shingles from the front portion of the roof that came apart. As they could not match the exact color of the shingles, they pulled two old ones from the back of the roof -- which is not visible and replaced the front ones with it. Grayson was very professional and courteous. He explained everything every well. More importantly, Grayson did a complete roof estimate and told me that the roof was in a poor condition. Two other contractors we called for an estimate did not mention this to us. It later turned out that we had some shingle damage due to hail and our roof is currently scheduled to be replaced by the insurance company. Thanks to Wade Griffin for alerting us to the problem. Infact, Grayson, demonstrated the fragility of the shingles which caused me to start looking at the issue more closely.

The work was done in a timely fashion with successful results. Workers were on time and cleaned up nicely afterward. Forrest came by several times to check the work. This company had already been referred to me by a friend so I can now recommend it to Angie's List members.

Wade has very good prices for his work. I got a roof put on by another company and Wade's price came in about a thousand dollars under that. They do a very neat job and they take the time to clean everything up beautifully. I usually stay to watch them do the work and I have been pleased. I give Wade Griffin Roofing all A's for their service.

I thought that they were good. A tree had fallen on my home after they had done the work. They came out immediately and repaired the roof so they are very prompt and do a good job.

Called on Thursday and receptionist said she would contact a worker, but he may not come by until Friday to give me an estimate. I said that was fine. They called Friday and came by around 1pm and the roof was fixed by 1:30, before threatening rain came.

They were very prompt to come and give an estimate. Willing to do smaller jobs. I thought they were reasonable.

NOT RELIABLE IN RETURNING CALLS. HAVE CALLED DAILY FOR THREE WEEKS.
