They started with the drywall, which was put up sloppily in many cases. When we pointed things out, their workers acted like they couldn't speak English. We always had to have the contractor call the boss back in and have the things corrected. We still have a wavy kitchen ceiling left to deal with...just got tired of all of the call-backs. Drywall was just slapped up over uneven boards or insulation still hanging down a little from the ceiling. They showed no desire to do a quality job. This caused major delays in all other aspects of the completion of the renovation. Early on, I had begged our contractor to "cut his losses" and go hire someone else to finish, but he never did, so we suffered. Don't suffer yourself. Just don't hire them to begin with.
