I chose him through Angies List because of his reviews and this was my first visit to him.

She is wonderful. She is very thorough. She listens. She researches, and she is just on-top of everything. I am very happy. I am fortunate to have found her.

She’s very personable. She takes the time to listen to what’s going on rather than making a quick appointment and you’re out the door.

He is my generation and he is just down to earth and he listens to you. He allows you to make decisions about your health. It’s a big network and it’s very nice. I can make my appointment whenever.

He is very friendly and very professional.  He seems to know what he is doing.  He caught something on my wife that I feel like other doctors would have missed.

Dr. Kent Carpenter is very good. He works me in if I need to see him. The office and staff are all very nice. The office is part of the hospital. It's a very nice wing of the hospital and kept really nice. The staff are very thorough. I've been seeing him for 10, 15 years. I will always go back to him.

She is very good. My wife works and the woman was very appreciative. She was very understanding and professional. She liked her manner. She was down to earth and not preachy rather than telling her that she shouldn't be doing this or that.

He was very competent, professional and friendly. His staff was very good too. It was a very nice staff and they treated me well. They were very professional and friendly. They treated me like a person rather than just doing their job. It looked like a pretty good set up and it is right beside the hospital. If I had any questions, he would take time to answer them. He was thorough and did a very good job.

She is really great and is incredibly detailed oriented.  She remembers everything and is informative.  She is a hundred percent worthy and takes time to explain stuff.  The thing which stands out about her is her thoroughness and her way of communicating.  She absolutely understands what she is talking about and takes the time to listen.  She provides a lot of additional services at her office such as a follow up.  I never have to wait when I am at her office.  I would recommend her to friends and family.

He is a good doctor. He is very knowledgeable. My wife was there one time with a cramp in her leg and he took one look at her and figured out that she had a problem with her ovary. The staff is all very friendly. We would continue to use him in the future.

Dr. Archer is knowledgeable, thorough, smart and stays updated on the latest information.  She also provides highly professional, but simultaneously personal, service.  I am completely confident in her abilities and highly recommend her services.

Dr. Beth Archer was ok to deal with, however her nurse had no patient relations skills! Less than a week later my blood pressure had not gone down. I called Dr. Acher's nurse. She stated I had to come back in for another visit. I told her due to my work I couldn't come in that week. She was very curt and said that that was the only way they would change my medicine Dr. Archer had prescribed. I also needed my blood test records and records for a heart specialist. I was informed that those records would cost me $43.00 to get copies. Next, I called 26 hours before my next appointment to postpone my appointment. I was told that if I postponed or canceled another appointment with the next 12 months there would be a $25. 00 fee. Needless to say I will not be returning to this practice again. It seems that University Medical Associates is more interested in "fees" than the betterment of their patients or patient care.
Response from University Medical Associates
"Please allow me to respond to your post. Our goal as Novant employees and healthcare workers is to provider a remarkable experience to every patient every time. Your post states that we did not meet that goal with you. Dr Archer is one of our most sought out physicians and, in fact, has been named one of Americas Top Physicians for several years. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a recipient of the Patients Choice Award for many years. Our staff, both clerical and clinical, have been trained to be professional yet friendly. Dr Archer's assistant was following the doctor's directions in asking you to come in to the office rather than calling in another prescription for you. The medication change you requested had potential serious adverse side effects and the symptoms you described warranted a proper assessment. None of the doctors in this practice would have made such a change without first examining you. As for your other comments, let me explain some of the misconceptions. We do not change $43.00 for copying records. To copy records there is a $20.00 fee. As far as the fee for missing appointments, we do charge after a patient misses three appointments without giving us advance notice. I do not think that is unreasonable. I am truly sorry that you had a bad experience at our practice. Perhaps if I had known you were having these problems at the time, they could have been avoided. I wish you the best with your new physician. Donna Francis Practice Manager"

I've been a patient of University Medical Associates since I came to the Carolinas in 1996. Marshall Silverman has been my Doctor for about 6 years now. I have been extremely pleased with the quality of service and care he and the office have provided. This is as close to an old time family doctor feel you can find these days. I can highly recommend him.

Dr. Carpenter is good. We have seen him for 10 years. I can call and get an appointment the same day, or within a couple of days. The staff and nurses are professional. The office environment is really nice.
