A representative called a day or two later and told me that the machine needed a new ignition coil assembly. He said that if I wanted to go ahead with the repair it would cost roughly $200.00.
I told him I would pick up the machine and take it elsewhere for repair and that I would return later and show him it only needed the spark plug wire. He was condescending to my doing so and said he would appreciate seeing the results of my effort.
I took the machine to another service provider and requested that they repair the broken spark plug wire. Two weeks or so later I returned to The Power Outlet? and showed them the machine and the receipt indicating they made the requested repair for a total cost of $38.50.
He examined my Multicutter head carefully and could see that only the wire and sparkplug boot were new and the ignition coil still showed the grime present from years of use.
I assumed at that point that he would return my $39.00 while admitting their mistake, but the representative continued to argue in support of their technician who had determined that the entire ignition coil and spark plug wire assembly replacement was required.
He said this in the face of the factual evidence that the other service provider replaced only the needed parts.
What more can I say?
