ROSDALE DRY CLEANING

This was more than an estimate or phone call, but the provider did NOT perform the service requested, which is the reason for the bad report. We had used this provider once before for shoe repair, and I was surprised that they did not polish the shoes (as is usual for shoe repair), but they had replaced the heels as requested. This time, I needed the sole reattached to a hiking boot. Their policy is for upfront payment, which I find odd. We compromised by agreeing to pay 1/2 of the estimate when we dropped off the boot, and pay the remaining half once the work was complete. Exactly one week later my husband returned to get the boot, and Rosedale denied ever having seen it. They claimed not to remember the conversation he had had with them regarding payment upfront, and they insisted there were no boots on their premises. Unfortunately, we did not have the receipt at the time. Later, we DID find the receipt and drove back to the store. Suddenly, they DID find the boot (despite having insisted earlier there were no boots anywhere). The same woman who had taken it from my husband one week earlier now explained that the boot is irreparable. (If only she had told us that a week ago.) They did agree to credit us with the $10 they had charged upfront.
