Buyers Beware.. we contracted Daniel Pantis to renovate our kitchen. The renovation included countertops, cabinet replacements, backsplash, removing wallpaper and painting. He required a deposit and a few months into the job insisted on getting more money. It took him 9 months to remove and replace the countertops with granite. Which he never sealed. I told him that I did not want him to do any of the other work, with the exception of the custom cabinets, which he said were on order. He missed at least 5 delivery dates for the installation of the cabinets, stating reasons like, the trim is wrong, the cabinet guy is busy, etc. $20,000 dollars and 14 months later, we still have no cabinets. I asked him to give me the cabinets, or refund my money. He refused both. In my opinion, Daniel is a wolf in lambs clothing. He is manipulative, dishonest and not trustworthy. He has no respect for his clients time or resources. It should not take over a year to replace cabinets.

while I am very pleased with the final product getting them installed was a nightmare.  Took months to finally get installed and missed several installation dates along the way.  Nice guy but just couldn't kept putting me off

Daniel was very professional and helpful.  He recommended the paint brand and finishes to use.  He followed up on the quality of the work and even identified areas that needed to be touched up.  The work was completed in three days and looks very good.

The finished space looks wonderful.  We replaced everything in the bathroom....new floor, new fixtures, new paint, new toilet, new vanity, mirror, backsplash, and a modern step in shower with a european style glass door.  We added a light over the shower and another outlet by the vanity.  All the craftsmen were professional and detailed in completing their work.  Daniel Pantis, our contractor, was polite and respectful, and had a wonderful vision for the project.  My only complaint would be the renovation took several weeks longer than expected.  But the end product has been well worth it!

December 2014 - I had seen Lake Normal Tile and Renovations on Angie's List and decided to give them a call to quote remodeling our master bathroom.
Daniel was very responsive to my inquiry and came out to look at our master bathroom and provide us a quote. He offered suggestions and listened to my "vision" of what I wanted (remove the old - shower stall, tub and sink/vanity. and pop corn ceiling. Install a new larger shower, soaking tub, sink/vanity, tile and repaint). Once we received all our quotes back and considered our options, my husband and I decided to award the job to Daniel and provided a 1800 down payment. We were not in a hurry to begin the job (as it was the week before Christmas) so we agreed that the end of January we would start. At the end of February after contacting Daniel via email / text to find out our start date he confirmed we would begin the following week. Due to rain delays that start date was extended and on March 6th the demo began.
Daniel and Kenny were here early in the morning to begin removing the old bathroom (shower, tub, toilet, vanity etc.) Before they began they covered my hardwood floors as not to damage or track in and out of my house while they made repeated trips to their trailer to remove the debris. Once everything was out Daniel had found that we had mold in a couple of spots that would need to be treated before they could begin the remodel. The following days, they began to scrape the popcorn from the ceiling and repair our walls of *many* imperfections. They worked on the new framing and setting the shower floor for waterproofing before they could begin any tiling. The plumber also made a trip out and moved our lines to accommodate the new drains for the shower / tub and we went from two sinks to one. We did have delays to our timelines of 3-4 weeks as the Flu had tightened its grip on Daniel and the tile crew. Slowly construction creeped along, painting of the walls was completed and the new soaking tub was installed. Finally the day came and the tile crew showed up - these men do amazing work and were always smiling.. They had their music playing softly in the background while they spent long hours in our bathroom cutting, installing and grouting tile. This crew was never disruptive and cleaned up their work space before leaving. (very much appreciated as we work from home) After the tile and the grout had set it was as you say a whirlwind afterwards.. Everything seemed to fall into place and we have a beautiful completed master bath.
Side notes: the tub that we had decided on was replaced by another before it was installed. Daniel was able to get an upgraded tub and offered the tub / savings to us if we wanted it, which we gladly accepted. Secondly, the vanity that we had picked out Daniel had placed the order for and once it arrived it was damaged. Instead of pushing our dates out again while waiting for a new vanity to arrive, Daniel drove to Fayetteville (from Charlotte) to pick up another that was in stock and had it for us the next morning.
Over all we are very pleased with our new master bathroom and how it turned out. We did have delays, we did have miscommunication and we continued to work together to achieve the end goal, which was our new and improved master bathroom.

I hired him in January and we came to a contract and signed it. It said what he would do, what it would cost, and how long it would take. The project is supposed to be done by now, as the contract said it would be completed by the end of April. There are many days that he didn't show up, and days where he sent strangers he had subcontracted with to my house. Even when he does show up, he only stays for a very short amount of time, and then leaves the workers there alone. There were times when I came home early from work and he was not there, so I called him and he told me that he was at my house working, when I was actually there and able to call him out. He then said, "oh I meant to say that we just left" (even though I had been home for 15 minutes). So far he has only done work in the bathroom, it's not even close to being done, and all the tiles are uneven. I told him about this, and he said that the guys that laid the tile were not his regular guys. He hasn't even started on the kitchen yet. I have given him $21,000 so far, and everything is a mess. I told him that I wanted most of the money back that I had given him, he was completely unresponsive to this. I emailed him and told him that I was going to get a lawyer and get Angie's List involved and he has yet to respond to that as well.

Unfortunately, the gentleman was booked six months in advance, he was unresponsive, and he failed to follow up with an estimate for the total cost of the project.  Ultimately, we deemed him to be undependable and opted to do the work ourselves.

I interviewed 2 highly rated bathroom remodel contractors from Angie's list.  One of them was Daniel.  I needed someone who had a vision of how we could rework the existing bathroom to make it into a bathroom that I wanted.  The first guy basically just quoted me for a remodel with the existing layout of the bathroom.  Daniel was able to visualize the space into something totally new and give me the bigger shower I wanted and give me the linen closet I couldn't afford to lose.  I booked Daniel about 3 months before the work began.  He requested 50% down to secure the date.  I was apprehensive to give that much up front, but because his ratings on Angie's list were so good, I did it. We basically gutted the entire space and started from scratch.  It took almost nine weeks to complete the job with Daniel and/or his one  helper doing most of the work. He did use subs for the electrical and plumbing. After the bathroom was 6 weeks into renovation, we left on a planned trip that we had planned weeks before the job actually started.  I had hoped that the bathroom would be done by then.  Unfortunately, it wasn't.  However, by that point, I was comfortable enough to leave Daniel access to the house while we were gone so he could complete the project while we were gone. He took great care to be sure everything was taken care of and he was careful to keep the house as clean as possible as well. Daniel was very attentive to my suggestions.  I made a few changes from the initial plan, but for the most part, we stayed on budget.
The bathroom has turned out amazing!  We are extremely happy with the end result.  I would not hesitate to work with Daniel again on another project.

Miserable.  Like pulling teeth to get anything done.  Paid $4999 for his "big deal", discussed substitutions, said "we can work it out".  Took 2 a solid months to complete the project.  I believe Daniel was over-loaded and could not manage his projects.  He had every excuse you can imagine for not showing up. Very frustrating trying to plan my days when I could not depend on his or his sub-contractor's arrival to work.  (He would pull them off my project to work on another, apparently more pressing one.)
I had to fight for each feature I wanted in the room; Daniel was negative about all my choices, but after making me believe the idea would not work, agreed to each feature.  By then, I was second-guessing my choices, and so many times, thought I should abandon my original design goal just to make it simpler.
I found that Daniel did not think ahead to the strategy of the project.  For example:  Rather than measuring the placement of the water hook-up on the sink cabinet, he had to call the plumber back again for adjustment to the pipes from the wall, costing another couple days.  Several instances like that were just shameful.
The finished product is BEAUTIFUL, and basically well-done.  There were several small things left undone, but not worthy of mention.  The main issue is that he DID NOT HONOR the "Big Deal" I purchased.  Nearing the end, he requested more money, which I thought was a lapse in memory (that I had paid up front).  Being such a small bathroom, and the fact that  I PURCHASED  the sink/cabinet, shower and sink faucets, mirror, sconces, towel bars and paint, I was stunned at the request for additional funds.  End of deal, he charged me $8500.  Springing that much difference on a client at end of project seems very unprofessional to me.

My husband and I purchased the Angie?s Deal for up to 35sq ft of granite for $1499 on May 22, 2014. Shortly after purchase Daniel contacted us to figure out a day to come and take measurements. Within a week (if not less) from purchase he and his partner Manuel came and took the measurements. Next my husband and I met Daniel on 6/13 at the granite warehouse and selected our slab. Of course it takes time for the granite to be prepared for install, so that was expected and acceptable. The issue is we continually had to contact Daniel for updates on our granite and when it would/could be installed. In addition, I had to continually ask him to send me the invoice which I never received (even to date). This was extremely frustrating given this was our first home improvement project, BUT we continued to be patient and understanding since it was clear the Angie?s Deals overwhelmed Daniel with business. Install FINALLY happened on 7/31 and the countertops look great.  The only issue with install was they damaged my cabinet in the process which Daniel said he will resolve and currently a work in progress.
Daniel is very creative, helpful when it comes to design and does great work, but there are many areas for improvement.  It is extremely important to keep clients updated on the progress of their project, especially when busy.  This will ensure they know what is happening currently and what will be happening next.  In the event these things change the client should be notified ASAP and should not have to constantly reach out first.  In addition clients should be provided a written invoice before the service is performed so they are clear the costs they will incur.  I will partially take blame for this because I should have refused payment until I received the invoice EVEN though me and my husband asked many times and provided several different email addresses, but never received an invoice.  With all that said, while Daniel does excellent work I am not sure I would work with him again.  I
hope the sole reason for some of the challenges we faced throughout our project was due to the unexpected volume of purchases of the Angie?s Deal, but even then you have to be more organized and keep clients informed throughout the process.

On 2/10/2014, the check was debited from my account. From 2/10-6/4/2014, I contacted him to follow up and he promised the following week to start. It took 2.5 months for him to complete my neighbors small bathroom remodel. During this time, he didn't show up at my neighbors on time as promised with no communication. Daniel and his workers left all of the trash in the garage of my condominium. I have emailed, text, and spoke with by phone and each time he promised a date in which he never showed. I sent 3 emails. The first email on 6/4/2014, I stressed how much I needed resolution with my bathroom and requested a refund of my deposit. The second email I requested the refund prior to my leaving town. On 6/20/2014, I text Daniel stating I needed my refund or I would take further steps in which he responded, "Please let me know when you receive the check." I asked, "When did you mail the check?". He responded, "I mailed it yesterday". I still have not received the check. I have called numerous time in which I received excuse after excuse. The BBB asked me to give him one more chance to refund my $5,000. I sent him another email on 7/14/2014 stating I need to have the refund check by 7/18/2014 in person preferrably. He returned my email on 7/18/2014 at 6:30pm stating his bank put a hold on his deposit for 5 business days and requested an extension for an additional 5 days.

This year for the first time I hosted Christmas at my home for my family. It was the perfect time for us to update the kitchen.

I have a very large kitchen and a set budget to work with. I did a lot of research and Daniel at Lake Norman Tile and Renovations was the only company that I spoke to that was ....honest enough to walk me through all the costs.

He promised that he could get the job done prior to Christmas. On Thursday prior to Christmas the team arrived and the counter tops were removed and new ones were installed. A side desk shelving was taken down and although very tight was a perfect fit.

Even though it was the holidays,  special arrangements were made when the equipment did not work to come back  on Sunday to complete. He and his team are prompt with follow up.

My countertops and back splash are really beautiful.  The last piece to complete my project will be the delivery of the cutting board I requested when the marble was cut.

Daniel performed several bathroom remodels for us, and we were impressed with his quality of work.  We expanded our remodel list with him to essentially involve the whole house.  This was extensive and included removing floor carpet and replacing with hardwood flooring, replacing old steps with new treads, taking down an extensive amount of old cedar wall boards and replacing with drywall, abundant trim work, removing old wood railing on steps and loft area and replacing with metal railing and custom posts.  Although this may sound extensive, if not mundane, the job was actually very extensive and very not mundane.  Our house has a chalet type design without a square wall or corner to be found.  Daniel was very detail oriented and only someone of this nature could accomplish these results to our satisfaction.  He was also very good at providing and discussing options and problem solving.  He provided valuable input throughout the process.  We are very pleased with the look and quality of our "new" home.
We are finishing up with a new kitchen, which also has challenging features.  We look forward to seeing how amazing that will turn out as well.  We would recommend Lake Norman Tile and Renovations to anyone else looking to do renovation or tile work.

This is an update to my previous review. I am currently working with this contractor to renovate my bathroom. Initially, we had some communication challenges, but that has been overcome and we are moving forward to getting started on the job. Daniel has been very responsive and has accompanied me to make tile choices. He has been an invaluable help to me as I make my choices. I will update review when job is complete.

Initially I was not in a big hurry, it was close to Christmas and I was going to be out of town until after the first of the year. Daniel was agreeable and courteous. After the first it was obvious due to the deal he had offered he and Manuel had gotten pretty busy. After a couple of mutually agreed upon delays, the day came for the install and Daniel came at the agreed time. Being single, I had no problem with the rest of the crew getting here around 5:30, I could see where not paying closer attention to the agreed upon schedule with a family involved could be problematic. The crew left with the countertop finished around 8:30. I was very pleased with the workmanship and hard work the crew put in. A prior job had some complications which resulted in what was originally scheduled for 9 am moved to 12, and the reason my job started so late. The work was accomplished and I am quite happy with the results. Daniel was nothing but professional and courteous throughout the process and I would gladly recommend him to anyone. His care to detail and getting the job done to my satisfaction were top notch.

Once contacted, Daniel remained in contact through the entire process, providing updates.  This special left him with a great deal of customers, and with that we worked on times that fit both our needs.  He made appointments with us for quotes, measurements, and even to visit the wholesaler to pick out the granite.  His crew came and quickly did the demo and install.  His crew were great, they took great care to protect my carpets and floor and cleaned up afterwards.  One perk was the install required pulling out the fridge so I was finally able to to get it vacuumed behind it.  The job cost more than the coupon...the coupon was for $1499 and the final total was $2849, but that was due to us choosing upgraded granite, and had more square footage than the deal allowed.  Despite the increase, Daniel kept me aware of the changes early on.
Daniel worked with us to choose the right color, shape, etc..  Overall a great experience, and a great job.

Purchased Big Deal for granite countertop.  Received call from Daniel Pantis next day and set up appointment to come out.  From beginning to end of job Mr. Pantis gave us good information (first time granite purchase for us) and understood our concept for a more useable counter and bar area for extra seating space.  Our existing counter  had a raised bar area that was really too narrow for setting a plate on.  Mr. Pantis designed a radius cantilever granite top that expanded our work area and made a very comfortable, useable seating area all one level.  We are so pleased with the transformation.  We had a wide range of granite to choose from. Mr. Pantis met us at the warehouse and was very involved and helpful while assuring us that he was committed to making our wishes his priority and the end product to exceed our expectations.  Mr. Pantis and Manuel  took measurements and made a template of the extended countertop we wanted.  We were able to reuse our existing sink undermounted.  Mr. Pantis was very helpful to understand our budget and look for ways to save without cutting quality.  On installation day Mr. Pantis arrived with his 2 man crew and had the granite and the sink installed, the faucet hole drilled and the granite sealed within 3 hours.  The bar area is one piece and the corner section 2 pieces but looks like one piece.  I keep walking through my kitchen and can't believe the difference.  It looks so updated and gorgeous.  Definitely money well spent and glad we were lucky enough to have Mr. Pantis do the work.  He will also be looking for a granite top for our kitchen island which we didn't initially plan to do and the backsplash.
