Landscape Productions

I previously gave Landscape Productions a glowing review for the work that was done on our front and back yards last year, however, many problems have arisen since early this spring and Mary has been unresponsive to phone calls and emails that we have sent to try and remedy the situation. She did a "spot check" on the yard early this year which I thought was very conscientious of her given the brutal winter. At that time she offered to provide periodic maintenance of the beds (for a fee), but never followed up with us or provided any detailed instruction regarding maintenance. I then contacted her in May about the plant materials which were not doing well in spite of the abundant rain and irrigation. She said that she would assess the yard in the following week, but did not come by until over a month later (after I contacted her again). By that time, we were in a heat wave and the plants were really not doing well. Mary did a thorough assessment of the plants and instructed us to change how we were watering the plants and to replace a sprinkler head in the area where the plants weren't doing well. She also offered to perform maintenance at that time, but did not show up on the agreed upon date, did not call to reschedule, and did not apologize to us. After I contacted her again regarding previous problems as well as potential new projects, she sent a rather expensive quote. I asked for a detailed breakdown of the cost, but she never responded. I then asked if it would be more cost effective to replace the struggling plants under the 1-year warranty. She then responded that the warranty was not valid because the plants weren't watered to her satisfaction. However, if Mary had responded in a timely manner to our initial inquiry these problems could have been avoided. Of note, when performing the initial service, Mary assessed the irrigation and replaced several malfunctioning sprinklers and told me that she had altered or removed a sprinkler in the area where the plants are currently dying. She offered to replace a few of the plants (for a fee), but we have called and emailed Mary to try to come to a satisfactory compromise without any response. I am greatly saddened by this experience because Mary did a beautiful job on the initial project and I was looking forward to working with her again, but it is unacceptable for a business to invalidate the warranty and to not try to work with the client to come up with a reasonable and fair resolution.

Mary and her team at Landscape Productions did a great job. The job took longer than expected, however, it was well worth the extra time. Initially we were focusing on backyard landscaping to create a privacy screen with less attention to the front yard. Mary took the requests that I had to improve the landscaping to the frontyard to a whole new level while continuing to work within our budget. Her design concept and the plantings that she chose for the frontyard were fantastic and we could not be happier! She chose plant material to highlight and accentuate the beauty of our home and to create amazing curb appeal. Mary was a pleasure to work with providing needed guidance and recommendations to make the project so much better than expected. She even performed extra services without charge simply because she wanted the yard to be perfect. I look forward to working with Landscape Productions in the future.

We are very happy. Maria and her crew did everything they were contracted to do (and a little more). The entire process was handled professionally. We are very happy with the design, and the quality of the installation. It is great when you find someone that does everything that they say they will do, and you know that you have no hesitation in hiring them again in the future. I would highly recommend Landscape Productions. Maria really takes pride in her work.

Covered much of this in section above, but suffice it to say we were impressed not only with the suggestions Mary made and how well the work was done, but how HARD Mary herself works. She was out here every time her crew was working just as hard. She was also here several times by herself, sometimes until almost dark, to make sure project was done well and done quickly. This is one landscaper who is NOT hesitant to get down in the dirt and heat to make sure the customer is completely satisfied. And we were. She even included removal and replacement of a section of rotten railroad tie wall that wasn't part of the original work, as well as a week's worth of watering while we were out of town. We're very happy with the quality and dedication of Mary and her company, and we would not hesitate to recommend her.

Mary was a pleasure to work with. It was hard to get in touch with me because of my work schedule, and Mary was very patient and persistant, which is the main reason I decided to work with her. She came out to our home and walked around with me, taking careful notes and pictures of what I wanted. We have not had time to care for the landscaping around our house, and weeds had grown in extensively, and bushes had gotten too big to the point that our home almost looked as if no one lived there. Mary provided a plan and an estimate, we discussed a few details, and she began work quickly. The plan called for enlarging the natural areas around the house and moving a good many bushes. Mary and her crew worked very, very hard moving big azaleas and bushes. They worked consistently, taking few breaks. The bushes were moved out from the house, enlarging the natural areas, and she brought in new plants where needed. Mary also added a few irises and daylilies to the plan, from those we had. The result is wonderful, and I am very pleased! I found her design to be both attractive and practical for our home. I cannot tell you how hard Mary and her crew worked to get this big job done. I was very impressed. Mary is easy to talk to, and listens to what you want and the "feel" of what your preferences are for your home. I highly recommend working with her and her crew. (I plan to contact her again to work on three other areas around our home later in the summer.)

Water drains across our backyard from lots above us. This coupled with the large trees on the property resulted in a backyard that alternated between a muddy mess and dried out dying grass if land not been washed away by the spring rains. Mary met with us and discussed in detail what our vision for the area was. She returned in a week's time with a detailed color plan for the area. The plan included a hardscaped river rock walkway and detailed labeling of plants suitable for the area. The price listed above included all the labor, plants, rocks, and installation. The plan was ours to keep for future reference. Mary completed the work in the time frame indicated in a very professional manner. She really listens to what you would like to have done. Part way through the project we discussed how to best water the plants. My husband proposed the idea of installing soaker hoses. We purchased necessary supplies and she installed them at no additional cost. All plants were guaranteed and she amended the soil prior to installation. She also returned several times over the next few months to check on the plants. We highly recommend Mary Koch. She is personable, knowledgeable and very professional. The completed backyard was beyond our expectations and when we save up some money we are going to hire her to do additional work on another problem area.
