Great job, good price

I had left a previous review of D because I hadn't heard back from an Angie's List inquiry. Turns out Angie's list messages do NOT go thru immediately to the vendor. It was 3 days later when he received my inquiry about getting an estimate. Once he had the message from me, he promptly replied; came by a couple days later, prepared and estimate that was most reasonable. Showed up on time on the date we agreed upon; got the repairs made quickly and they looked great. In short, disregard my previous review. Jay Durst is an excellent Huntersville resource - especially for outdoor entertainment areas and hardscapes.

We asked Jay for a quote to build us a patio based on a size we wanted. The price came back out of our budget but Jay worked with us to finds ways to knock the cost down. What we ended up with far exceeded our expectations. Several low walls had to be built and the crew used masonry covered with mortared rock. The pavers are travertine. I have two gas grills that I wanted a bar built around and working with the cdx crew, it all came out beautifully. We couldn't be more pleased. Jay and his crew were responsive, fun to work with and very professional. I would not hesitate for a minute to use them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality work. I'm a little late in submitting this review (c'mon its only been one year), but it is not because of any concerns with the work, just me being slow in making the review.

Jay is very friendly and fantastic to work with!  He explained what they would be installing and the estimate was spot on!  Our and our neighbor's houses are situated on a small gully and over the years the back yards have been sliding further into the gully.  Jay and team installed a cinder block retaining wall apx. 3 ft high across all 3 yards as one continuous wall.  This is exactly what we were looking for.  In addition Jay's team extended our back porch slab from 8x8 to 20x15!  
This was all done in the ridiculous heat of this summer (June 2015) so it took a little longer than expected, but with that much heat it was tough on the crew and we understood needing extra time.
In the end not the largest project, but I will certainly be calling Jay at "CDX Construction Services" again should we come up with any more projects!  We and both neighbors are extremely happy with the outcome!  The photos show the wall and back fill, we didn't want grass just yet as we where not sure exactly what we were going to do with our newly recovered lawn space!

Jay and his team of craftsmen did a great job - providing impeccable, superior workmanship and the project was reasonable considering amount of work required. Jay was easy to work with - candid, honest and accommodating. We had a very solid experience with few surprises. The planning and estimating process went smoothly and Jay was helpful in guiding us and recommending improvements or ways to minimize cost overages. The job waranted a lot of communication, and interaction - Jay was great at putting our minds at ease and delivering a wonderful end product. He offers a lot of experience and patience that ensured a job well conceived and completed. We had a few minor issues post construction and completion and Jay was consistently accommodating and worked hard to make time in an extremely busy season to rectify any of our concerns or issues. With all the horror stories out there it was a pleasure to work with Jay and his team. No hard sell or constant up-sell just worthwhile inputs at the right time. He's a pragmatic smart businessman who treats his clients with respect and good humor and that helps a stressful endeavor run more smoothly and predictably. We just love our back yard escape and enjoy many days and evenings throughout the change of seasons relaxing and entertaining friends and family.

CDX Construction did a great job.  Much of the work was done while we were on vacation.  Jay helped us design and select materials and colors.  Work was done on schedule.  Job site was cleaned up.  We are very happy with the porch and plan to use CDX Construction again for future work.

Jays guys started on a Monday, and they had dug the footer for the retaining wall so they would not mess of the neighbors yard.  They finished  the job on friday.  It was the fastest simplest dealing I've had with a contractor ever and we've had two houses built.
They were professional and have already recommended them to others.
