Biltwell (Jamie Giampa) was hired in November of 2008, to perform a remodeling job. Our first meeting after signing and providing a deposit was about additional money for the tinted windows, despite the contract specifying tinted windows. This should have been a clue, but we proceeded. He became very difficult to work with, and we had shouting matches at our meetings at times. It got so bad that I dreaded having a meeting with him. In late Spring of 2009, we started to experience water damage in areas under new roof sections. We discovered mold and he tried to deny the problem. We brought in a contractor consultant and found that there was deficient work as well as incomplete work in the foundation and other areas that we had already paid for. We were told that the contract stages we had paid for were incomplete and that his definition of the stages was not in accordance with standard building practices. To top it off, he had advertised himself as licensed, but wasn't (and still isn't) a licensed contractor. As things became more difficult, he removed items from the property that were for the job, which we had paid for, and he would not return them. The "permit" contractor stepped in (this is the one who Jamie used to pull the permit, since he wasn't licensed). He is still completing the job and we are almost done. Work that should have taken 6 months to complete is now in its 16th month, all thanks to Biltwell's poor work, lack of oversight, water damage and lack of a contractor's license. Bottom line - NOT Recommended, at all. Hire at your own risk.
Description of Work: The full scope of the project was a remodel including gutting the existing house (for the most part) and doing 3 additions, for bedroom space, a great room and a front porch. He was fired at less than half way through, but with more than 1/2 the money.
