Pamela Banks is the principal. They did a wonderful job. I know them because they have done a number of homes, at least 13 customers, in my area which is Champion Hills so they come highly recommended.

All the companies that we had bid quoted about the same. Carolina Concrete's initial bid was slightly lower...in the beginning. On the day the work team showed up and started laying out the design the price went up with "extras" Our original quote was $4679 and the final price was $5,063. The gentleman that did the bid and the supervisor of the crew were not on the same page. The work crew was professional and ended up doing a lot of the project by hand (so we didn't fuss to much about the higher price, since we knew it cost them more than expected as well.) They worked fast and the whole project took two full work days. Originally we asked for colored concrete with the dye mixed throughout the pour. We explained that we were concerned about chips or scratches over the long term. We specifically said "we don't want someone dragging a patio chair and scratching the color leaving a big white mark forever." Against our better judgement, they talked us into surface color saying it would penetrate deep enough so that scratches or chips would not be a problem. DO NOT DO IT! Our beige color was splotchy from the second day. Over normal use we had bare spots show up the first week. We wondered if all the excessive rain played a part in the concrete surface not curing before the sealing. We called CCD and told them that we were not happy with the finish and a mess on our property where they had emptied the pump tubes leaving hunks of concrete over pour. They were immediately responsive and asked us to email pictures. They sent a crew over and pressure washed and resealed the entire patio. They also hauled away the debris that was left. No questions or debate. Everyone from the office to the work crew seemed to be truly concerned about our satisfaction. Overall I am B+ happy with the final surface, A+++ happy with the design and end project. We have been enjoying on our new patio everyday that it has not rained. I would definitely recommend them to a friend or family.
Response from Carolina Concrete Designs Inc
"This project was somewhat of a challenge due to location where work was to be done. I initially spoke only with [removed member name], about color options after discussing the costs difference between color hardner and integral color the color hardner was chosen by customer. The difference in cost was the added square footage due to slight design change once project started. Discoloration was due to sealer being rained on shortly after being installed. Once we received the call we did respond quickly to remediate the issue."

We wanted a patio off our back porch that would fit in with the general appearance of our home. We got the idea for a stamped concrete design from a friend who had Carolina Concrete Designs put in their patio. We had them and two other contractors give us bids and all three were competitive in price. We made an appointment with Josh at CCD and he showed up exactly on time. He listened to what we wanted to do, asked us questions, and answered our questions. When we felt comfortable that we understood each other, he described what the job entailed. On the day the work was supposed to begin, he and his crew were set up and ready to go to work at the time specified. They didn't just meander in, scratch, spit and talk, they went straight to work. The project was done just the way Josh described it, on time and on budget. We noted that the contrast color applied to the stamped seams was meticulously painted in by hand. Also, when the television cable was dug up, it was routed through the work in conduit so that future work or replacement could easily be done. When everything was done, the work area was clean and ready for landscaping. Small, professional finishing touches such as these are part of CCD's style. We were pleased enough to ask them back without competitive bids to do some additional work. They are on our go-to list for any future work. In summary, prompt, professional, ethical and home-owner friendly.
