I hired Barry Thompson of Thompson’s Drywall to drywall the room over my garage and the stairwell leading to the room. Late in the day on Friday after a week on the job, Barry considered his work done. I inspected the job as best I could with the limited light available (Barry brought no lights to the job). He assured me that he would come back to fix anything that wasn’t right. Feeling that he was a stand-up guy, I paid him and he was out the door. About a week later, I found many areas that needed to be reworked. I tried several times to contact Barry, but was unable to reach him. He also did not respond to the voicemail messages I left. After several weeks went by, I decided to do the work in the main room myself, so I could continue with the project. However, repairs were still needed in the stairwell. I finally got in touch with Barry a few months later, and he agreed to come out and do the repairs. However, he never showed up and never called to reschedule. For the next several months I made numerous calls to Barry’s mobile and landline phone, but get only his voicemail. And again, he hasn’t responded to any of my messages. It has now been over a year since he did the original work, and he’s yet to do the repair work.
