instead of writing a review i will just put a portion of our converstion here. May 29, 2024 TJ: Still had to verbalize it my guy I did want to talk to you about the trim.. it looks like you are putting all new trim in the bedrooms?? Me: Yea I am. Also throughout the house the baseboards smelled. We had someone rent this house years ago and they let there dogs do anything and everything. Me: How much for you to just do all the trim? TJ:. Install the trim? Me: Yes. My nail gun took a crap TJ: Just flat stock (baseboard) And are you buying the baseboard? Me: Yes just flat and I would buy them TJ: Okay I will answer that in a second, but first, I wanted to talk about other aspects. When I quoted you, I did not quote caulking and filling a whole house of new trim or additional patches. I do not like charging people more money as to me it does not seem right and I am the person that just wants the job down right and well. So I would love it if we could help each other I have a large bill I need to get squared away. I was hoping you we have built enough trust where you would be willing to pay out the invoice, and in return, I can do the extra caulking and patch work at no charge? As for trim I am willing to lower it a lot for you and do it for $500 I would need to break away for a couple days and wrap up a remodel I had going on where the flooring is finally getting delivered As for tomorrow, i want to knock out your bedroom and sand and finish the living room So i have no idea why he agress to install baseboards for $500. May 30, 2024 Me: Also when we say trim we are talking window trim as well ? TJ: For install or paint??? Me: Install or are we just talking baseboards TJ: You just mentioned you were changing baseboard because the animals peed on them... I can do all the windows as well, but I can't do baseboard and windows for $500 But I know how to do trim veri well, so up to you on thst boss All in all we are still not complete After a month and i have not even had a whole week of work because he has other projects to complete for people. I have not installed all the baseboards even though i told him i would do that myself but acts like he needs that to be done to paint , do drywall Patches and all the things you can do that does not stop him from finishing. His own words Today TJ: It's all called trim (millwork) Of we were going to call each item by what it is, it would be baseboard, door casings, window casings, window sil, window skirt, etc I honestly don't know why we are tslking about installing trim? You said you did not want to spend the extra money and that you would do it?? I just need you to have it all installed ( talking about baseboards and quarter round that boy did) (like you said you did already) so I can caulk and paint it. I will just leave it at that. everyone's project complete but mine even though i have paid him in full. Beware if you hire. Have a plan for him, ask for a detailed invoice and his projected completion. If he says he can not or can't make the deadline, have a clause in place to define what happens after that. He does great work but is very bad at communication and honoring the price he gives for additional work.

He was professional and communicated every step of the way. His services were reasonable and his work was meticulous.

Quality work, good communication

Salt&Cedar was hired to remove and replace our flooring and baseboards/trim after a flood. TJ was timely, professional, and did a phenomenal job with both the installation and painting. He made sure we were able to get back into our home as quickly as possible and we love our new floors! Weâ ve already recommend Salt & Cedar to neighbors and friends and weâ ll definitely use them again in the future when the opportunity arises.
