"Thank you so much for choosing Marble Unlimited. We are thrilled to be able to help you with your countertop needs. Thank you for the review also."
"Thank you for the review. I noticed we got a B on price and punctuality and was not sure why as we gave the granite price at $29.95 per square foot even though you where out of area and did not live within 20 miles from us to qualify for this. We installed the job with in 10 days from measure."
2) Installed a defective granite top in the master bath. The owner did willingly replace it. However, the replacement top had the wrong edge. I did not order beveled. The owner Mike was yelling on the phone and informed me that I did not have a choice---- either keep the defective one or the beveled top. Mike stated that he was not going to lose money by cutting another top. He indicated that I would get a $50 check if I kept the replacement one. What that a fair compensation? It was obvious that his installers were embarrassed by Mike's unprofessional behavior.
We sought recommendations from friends who had recently completed similar projects and visited those who were recommended or those who impressed us at the show. After receiving about 6 bids we settled on Marble Unlimited because of the endorsement they received from friends of ours and their price was competitive.
After visiting aobut 6 different stone yards we came back to Marble Unlimited. They are a local independent dealer / installers and had a good selection of granite in their yard, We worked mostly with Lindsay, Jennifer and Daniel. All were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.. They answered all our questions and provided some helpful suggestions, especially the back splash.
We were undecided what we wanted for a back splash. We had toured Parade of Homes houses and taken photos of back splashes we liked, but were undecided. We finally settled on an Italian subway tile with tumbled edges Daniel suggested we consider. After we found a bull nose trim at another store to provide a little "pop", we finally had the look we were seeking.
The install of both the counter tops and back splash went without a hitch. Daniel came to the house and took all the measurements and the special sink we had purchased on Amazon. Less than a seek later crew of two came and removed the old counter tops and installed and leveled the new ones in a few hours. I think it was about a week later another person came and installed the back splash. The project quote was received by us on October 18 and the project was completed and paid in full by November 7. Great service!
It is now about 18 months and we continue to enjoy the look and practicality our counter tops and back splash. The sealing of the back splash brought out all the beautiful subtle patterns in the marble. It looks new after 18 months of wear and tear (It is a working kitchen, we love to cook and entertain). The blemish we can report is the seam between the back splash and counter top. The material used to seal it has cracked and in some places fallen out. This is especially troublesome behind the kitchen faucet where water could go down behind the cabinet and soak the wall. I have have just contacted Marble Unlimited to bring this to their attention and see what resolution can be reached. I'm confident they will come through with an appropriate fix.
Other than that we love the job Marble Unlimited did and plan to use them when we redo the bathrooms.
Based on the price, the selection of granite was limited, but we found
something we liked. The initial install as done in a day, but the
finishing was sub-par. When we called, they were very nice and said
they'd send someone to fix it and we scheduled a date and time. The day
and time arrived, but they didn't. Again, when I called, they were
extremely apologetic, waived part of the original fee, and promised to
have someone there the next day. They showed up, fixed the problem, and
our bathrooms look great.
So it's not always doing it perfect
the first time, but how you respond when there's a mistake. And they
responded appropriately. Nice folks; would use them again.
Don't allow them to cut your granite without an accurate template.
They do have good pricing and a good selection.
Installers were nice and helpful.
Despite the fact that they did not template our job, they did attempt to make it right. We had to give a little to make it all work so job was not performed as it should have been.
Generally nice to work with but there was some stress when the granite did not install as they thought it would (again make sure they template).
"We sure do appreciate the kind words as a small local owned business we depend on customers like you. Thank you"
"The member was not an Angie List customer but a barter customer. We were members of a barter network and stopped being members. The dishwasher she photographed is a standard dishwasher and if she looked up under the granite we in-layed a piece of wood into the bottom of the granite so that dishwasher needed to be screwed with the screws that came with it into the wood. The back splash she photographed was an existing tile back splash that she wanted out to be replaced and my installer for free removed it so that we could install the granite counter-tops. We did back out of installing the tile after realizing this customer would not be happy with anything we did and she wanted it installed in a time frame that we could not keep."
