The HVAC system was never registered by Jeff Daulton with Trane. Recently, the motor in my air handler died. It would have been under warranty except for this oversight. Thus, I am having to pay the cost of the motor out of pocket.

The service technician arrived within three hours of my trouble call. The company called ahead and notified that he was on his way. He placed the air conditioning back in service, but needed a qualified electrician to replace the power disconnect, which he arranged for and which was accomplished that same afternoon.
All work was completed promptly, courteously, and professionally.
The grade of B on price is only because I have no reference standard. The technician advised me what the charge would be, in advance of the work, which is something that doesn't always happen.

On the first hot day of the year, we naturally turned on the AC. It was a no-go. I immediately called Jeff since he had been so helpful last summer with an unrelated AC problem. Not surprisingly, Jeff and his associates were very busy. However, they still made the time to work around our schedules and came to see us in the next day or so. To make a long story short, the 6 year old unit (5 year warranty) needed to have a new compressor installed. They gave me several options, and I chose to get a whole new unit. Again, within a day or so, they were back to to install it. (They even tried to come on a Saturday, but the wrong unit was delivered by a different company!) They were professional, competent, and friendly. I could not recommend them more highly. All of the people who work for Jeff are top-notch.

They came out the same day we called, quickly found the problem, and replaced a dual capacitor that had gone bad. The serviceman told us that diagnosing the problem cost $110.
The issues we had was knowing that capacitors are really not very expensive. We found the most expensive capacitor on line was $65. Also, the replacement capacitor was not secured to the unit, even though the original part was secured. Our score for this would have been a lot higher if the bill was $225 verses the $315 billed.
I'd like to find an A/C repair service that charges a fair price, i.e. $205 for a $65 (or less) part is an excessive markup.

This morning, the air conditioning on the house stopped working. I called Jeff (after finding him on Angie's list) and he came out within the hour. He replaced a part in the unit that was filled with ants and we had air again within 2-3 hours of my initial call to him (the commute is at least 30 minutes of that time). He gave me a discount on the part and labor and didn't charge overtime for the holiday visit. I was extremely impressed that (1) he was working today on July 4th; (2) he realized my dilemma on this hot day and made me (not a regular customer) a top priority; (3) his fees were very reasonable; (4) he was very friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend him to others!

Came home on a Saturday from a brief trip. The air conditioner was out, and it was hot. I called and left a message for Jeff. He called back 20 minutes later. Within another 20 minutes, he was at our house. Within two hours, he had located the part (on a weekend!!) and had it installed. His work was great, and he was very nice to work with. The service was amazing!! I will call him again in a heartbeat if something goes wrong with my AC.

I came home from work to find my upstairs AC had just quit, and with 100 degree temperatures in the forecast, I was concerned to say the least! I called Jeff that evening and scheduled an appointment for the following day. I was prepared to do the "wait for a three-hour window" tango, so you can imagine my surprise when he called me and asked if he could come earlier. He was punctual, friendly and cheerful. He got right to work, discovered the problem, showed me what was going on, and then took care of it. He even suggested I *not* have some work done that I had been considering (even knowing that I would have hired him to do the work!).
In short, Jeff was great. My AC is fixed, it's still early enough in the day for me to get some stuff done, and I don't feel like I was hit by a bus or robbed. A+ from me, and I will definitely contact him for any future issues with my home's heating and cooling system and will not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who asks.

Our A/C just stopped working over the weekend. It got close to 90 degrees in our house. We called Jeff and he was over in less than hour on a Sunday morning. He worked quickly, explained the problem clearly, and billed me the amount quoted. I highly recommend his services.

I have confidence that this problem is likely fixed for good; or if there is any followup required, Jeff will work effectively and with integrity to correct the problem. I also plan to use his service for periodic inspection and routine maintenance on all my three systems.

Contacted Jeff's company because it was close to my house. He was out within a couple of days (no one was in the house at the time). Very professional. Unit was repaired and has worked great since.

Our furnace stopped working on Saturday night so I called two companies one local, Jeff Daulton, and another lager company in Durham (the second never called back). The company called back with in an hour of my calling them asking me if I wanted them to come out that day. Since it was not predicted to be very cold that evening I told her that the next day would be fine. They cam put the next day and evaluated the problem and determined that there was a burned out fan. They ordered the fan and the wrong fan was sent they were not sure they would be able to get the correct fan by the evening. They sent someone over to the distributor before they closed. When I got home in the evening it was getting dark and they were there finishing up the install. I asked if it were at all possible to have it done that day and they did. I was both pleased to have found them and that they were a local company.

Jeff was referred to us by someone else, and it turned out that he was a great recommendation. He always responded right away when I called because strange things were going on with the furnace and air conditioner. He also worked well with our home-owners insurance and tried to get us the best deal on parts and labor.
