Well. The repairmen were on time and knew what they were doing. A part needed to be ordered. It was ordered and delivered on time.

It was a great experience.

15 month-old GE dryer (with a 12 month warranty) just stopped working. Called one repairman who just didn't bother showing up. Called another who did show up and told me that I would need a $250 motor replacement. At this point I decided I was going to have to do battle with GE, but I knew that if I contacted them the first thing they would ask would be whether a GE-certified technician had looked at it so I thought I was contacting GE repair just as a formality. Went online and scheduled the appointment. He showed up on time--very nice guy, professional, etc. Had the dryer fixed in about 1 minute. Explained what happened and told me how to fix it if it ever happened again. I had agreed to pay a $90 service call when I scheduled it, but he looked at my record and said that this was close enough to my warranty period that he'd just put the call under warranty service, so there was no charge. Can't beat that.

The fan started rubbing against the cage surrounding after using the self cleaning cycle on my upper oven. I didn't notice this until the Monday before Thanksgiving. Immediately made a phone call yo GE and was able to get an appointment for Wednesday. However, GE Appliance Repair only offers choices of 8 am - noon or 8 am - 5 pm slots. For that appointment, I wasn't even given the choice - I was just told it would be between 8 and 5. (Rather archaic and rude way to conduct business these days. Even the cable company gives you a two hour window!) Unfortunately, I had an urgent dentist appointment Wednesday morning to repair a fractured tooth and told the lady this. She told me the most they could do was place a note on my service request about this. I then called my dentist and was able to get my appointment moved to an earlier time slot.
Of course, the note was not added to the service request as I was told this when they called at 9:30 am to tell me I was next. I explained what was going on, about the note, etc. and asked if they could move me to later time slot and they refused. So, thanksgiving dinner got cooked on the grill. :(
I called again on and quot;Black Fridayand quot; and was able to schedule for the following Wednesday and was able to request the 8 am to noon time slot. The repairman arrived during that time, was very nice, very professional and fixed my oven in less than ten minutes.
