"We often advise customers before the start of a project that they may provide their own fixtures as a way to save money, but unfortunately, we cannot warranty fixtures we have not provided. When something we have worked on isn't functioning properly, we promptly schedule a follow up appointment. If the malfunction is due to our work, this visit is free of charge, otherwise we charge a nominal service fee. We do our best to give an upfront price for the benefit of the customer, but often offer hourly billing, if that's their preference, or there are too many unknowns to offer an upfront price. These prices are based on market value, and our overhead. It's important to Dynamic Electric that we provide an affordable service to our community, based on ethical business practices. We are a licensed, insured, bonded and Living Wage certified employer."

Scott and his team worked quickly and efficiently to help us meet our move-in deadline. He communicated with us frequently, kept us updated, and was extremely accommodating and flexible. We were consistently impressed by his strong work ethic and skill--removing knob and tube over the hot summer months, installing lighting in 100-year-old beadboard ceilings, and working with old plaster walls was no easy task! We are so pleased with Scott's work (the house looks & functions beautifully) and would hire his company again in a heartbeat! You will not regret choosing Dynamic Electrical Solutions for your electrical needs.
"Thank you for your detailed review (removed member name). It was great working with you and I was very happy to see your house turn out so well when the project was over. Enjoy downtown Durham!"
This trip was focused on the lights on the gate columns not working properly. This trip was his second for this particular problem, he was very patient and methodical, and did not bill us until he identified and resolved the problem.
After eliminating and correcting potential problems in wiring and junction box, we opened the gate operator control box for Scott to trace wiring, and Scott immediately spotted a set of wires in box that were uncapped, slightly apart, and the located the loose cap on the bottom of the box, behind the mass of wiring. He capped them and the lights came on.
At the same time that he re-capped the light lines, a line fell out of a block in the control board, and he discovered a disconnected ground line sitting in there, not long enough to connect to where it was supposed to go - not connected. He reconnected the line to the open position in the gate operator block, ensured all others were tight and secure, and put a new ground wire in, long enough to reach both ends.
So, he corrected the light problem, and corrected gate operator installer's work.
You may have guessed that Scott is pretty bright as he no trouble simply looking at the board to determine how it works, and corrected the gate operator installer's work.
Scott and his helper also cut away brick and cement base from both light pillars, and rock from the garden wall on the right, to widen the openings at the ends of the trough beneath the gates, that holds the line conduits. Scott could have easily removed the brick over the conduit trough for the gate operator installer to run his wiring, had we known Scott at that first visit from the gate installer.
We discussed with Scott having Scott return some time in the future with his power line tracer to help us map the power and landscape lighting lines that crisscross this property.
Scott and helper also moved interior fixture Romex, and installed new lines, boxes and a switch, in the master bedroom as stage one of our project for replacement of fixtures permanently installed during construction of that portion of the house, with new light fixtures. They did a great job!
So, Scott and his helper are versatile in what they can accomplish.
In addition, he has a great personality and a very positive attitude and military work ethic (he's been here twice at 7am sharp), and is very fair with accounting for his time and billing.
Scott has our endorsement. We suggest you consider Scott for support of your electrical projects, and perhaps for installation of gate operators.
In our first phone call, Scott explained his company's billing practices after I described the job to him. There is another electrician and helpers, however Scott did come solo because we agreed that a helper would not be needed, and that saved me from paying for a helper's time. I appreciate that he explained that. Scott also gave me some advice about what needed to be plugged into a new battery back up I had set up.
The price was very reasonable for the time/work involved.
I will definitely call this company again for any electrical needs. Just exactly the kind of person we feel comfortable with working on our home. Highly recommended.
