I've now hired Chip and Nora no fewer than half a dozen times for all kinds of tree removal and trimming needs. They're trustworthy, highly skilled, cautious, and always fairly priced. Our property is completely wooded, so it's just a matter of time before I'll need them again.

It was fascinating to see how Chip got the rope up into the tree and then how Nora climbed up very high.  Quite impressive.  They took care that the cut branches didn't fall down on anything that would be damaged.  They cut up and took away all of the cut branches and then cleaned up, not only what they had done, but cleaned up the whole front yard so that it looked much better than when they had arrived.
They also examined the woods in back of my house and made recommendations, but said they were optional.  They didn't try to get me to do a lot of work.
I trust them and would use them again.

We emailed the company on 7/8/14.  They got back to us the same day.  The couple came over the next day and were able to take care of the work at that time.  ArborCarolina was everything we wanted.  They are conservative with tree cutting.  They advised us about other trees we have, telling us ways to care for them without extensive pruning.  The ArborCarolina website reflects the company's professional, educated view of tree care.

I corresponded with them only through email, I never met them in person. They were very delayed in responding, and the entire process took probably over a month. They would keep me updated about the delay; they were doing some volunteer cleanup work down in Charlotte, and then their tree person sustained an injury, so it was delayed even further. They did do an excellent job with the tree, and their prices were very very reasonable. I would use them again for trees that were not of an urgent nature, although they may be more expeditious if there was a huge safety concern.

Chip and Nora arrived when scheduled for the estimate. It was in late winter. Unlike other services that I contacted for an estimate, they seemed more concerned with the health of the tree than completing the job and getting paid.  They informed me that the river birch would take to pruning better if they waited until after the leaves were on the tree in the spring. We scheduled a time and they arrived on schedule to complete all of the work.  They were very professional.  Chip set lines in the birch and Nora climbed about  40 ft up into the tree, carefully removing limbs from over the house with a hand saw.  Nothing hit the house or landed in a smaller Japanese Maple directly under the birch.  Chip removed a 30 ft pine tree that had died from the back yard. When he was finished, there was no trace of the tree, save a small stump cut to ground level. I did not contract them to remove the stump. They ran into problems felling a mature rotten pine from a heavily wooded area near my children's treehouse and a fence.  It was obvious that the job was more than they originally thought. The amount of rot around the base of the tree made dropping it safely difficult. They had to return to their shop to get different equipment.  They came back around 30 minutes later and felled the tree where they said they would with minimal damage to the surrounding trees.

I like that they direct their service towards your personal needs. Their last visit costed us $400.

This husband and wife team were very knowledgeable and made the health of our trees their priority. They removed several branches that were overhanging our roof (cutting down on pine needle buildup) and that were unbalancing one of our trees. They used ropes to scale the trees to avoid compromising the bark of the trees, and went about their work in a thoughtful and thorough manner. They also, without being asked to, hauled away a large branch that had fallen on its own during the snowstorm. Will definitely use them for our future tree-care needs!

excellent service.  We discussed removing the fallen evergreen privacy trees, they gave
us additional helpful information about the remaining trees and how to best
approach the work we wanted done. The job was thoroughly completed and everything cleaned up.

First, I called  and Chip and Nora came out promptly and looked at the tree in question and gave me tips for other trees on my property. The tree removal was difficult because there were wires going through it and it overhung my neighbors property, plus I needed approval from the town including a letter from a certified arborist that the tree was dead. Chip took care of all of this and even picked up the permit.

We emailed back and forth for a few weeks because they recommended taking the tree down once the leaves were off to decrease the weight. It took them two days to take it down. They removed all the wood and cleaned up the site.

They were VERY professional and knowledgeable.

Very friendly, informative, and professional, they took great care of our trees.

It went fantastic. They were on time, honest, the price was low.

We were given two estimates: one for pruning the dead branches and another for cutting down the tree. They are very knowledgeable about trees and we felt comfortable choosing the pruning option. It two days to complete the work and they cleaned up the area each day.

Nora worked on the cedar and did an excellent job.  This tree was growing in strange ways due to a lightning strike which had destroyed the top of the tree.  This made the job of trimming it more challenging, but she instinctively knew where to cut to get the desired results.  The tree looks wonderful since she worked on it.
Nora and Chip worked on the large tree and both of them did an excellent job of removing it.  They worked very carefully and deliberately with safety in mind and with respect for our property (house, etc.), and for the land.  They took the tree down piece by piece with pulleys and ropes.  We felt very comfortable having them here and felt a level of trust with them, both professionally and personally.

The work required a lot of climbing and expertise. It was a delicate situation also, given the proximity to the house and being right over our deck. Chip worked very carefully and slowly and gradually took the pieces down. Looks great!
