I had my very long driveway and i have to say that even thought I doubted that they would come back to complete the job to my initial understanding of the project the final result is that I am very very pleased with the outcome. We had initial miscommunications of the scope of the work but they made it right in the end. Very pleased with my driveway now.

I have nothing but good things to say about this business and contractor. Extremely knowledgeable, more than fair in price and practice and exceptional craftsmanship. They did everything they said they would do, and more. They were very punctual. There equipment was in great shape and their crew was very skilled and knowledgeable. I'm a licensed professional engineer and an unclassified general contractor myself and l can confidently say that they are extremely exceptional contractors in their ethics and products. Any homeowner could hand their project over to Ace Asphalt and feel confident that they will be getting a great product at the best price. Terrific! Came out very quickly . Work was very professional. Price was very reasonable. They did things we hadn’t even discussed, such as hauling in rip-rap to prevent further erosion on both sides of the culvert! Looks great, and water now flows with no problem and no erosion! Ace also paved my driveway about 12 years ago and it is holding up extremely well. This is a company that knows what it’s doing! Highly recommended.

They came yesterday, got to work. Did a great job, I am very pleased with the result, it looks so good. They scraped the driveway making it nice and level, added a base, got everything packed down, poured the asphalt. made sure everything was smooth, took care of the edges. Would highly recommend this company!

Work started and ended as schedule (3 days). Very responsive to specific problems. Price paid was exactly as estimated. Condition of road was very poor, cracked, disintegrating, sinking in some places. Extensive prep work required including expanding existing turn-around circle, tar and chip prior to 2" asphalt. All problems resolved. Jim and team worked very well together. In my view, outcome was excellent! Intersection with existing driveways was done extremely well. Price was significantly better than other large company estimate.

Went fine - just 2 small problem areas that will be corrected soon.

They're fantastic. I can't say enough good things about them. My road looks so great. They showed up on time and completed the job in a single day. They're just a pleasure to work with, an absolute pleasure and a first class job. They're absolutely fantastic. These guys were the lowest and they did the absolute best job.

Ace came to my house within 3 days to develop a quote.  The team was very professional and the end result was fantastic.  They asked where to put the dirt they removed and used it to fill in and smooth a small ditch on the side of the driveway, all the way from the road to the end of the asphalt, all at no extra cost.  Very little work was required to smooth out the lawn surfaces next to the fresh asphalt.  I would highly recomend them..

They came in the morning and finished by 5:00. It looks great. Our neighbors are all impressed with the workmanship and the curve of the driveway which looks very attractive. When we got estimates, one company was charging $1500+ to haul off the existing gravel. Jim found a house in the surrounding area that wanted the additional rock on their driveway and hauled it for no additional charge. Our driveway is fairly long and also slopes towards the garage. They built the driveway in a manner to have the water run off at a different angle.

Fantastic job. Easy to work with. Kept us up-to-date on the schedule. Nice people. We first contacted them in the spring for an estimate. Once we got all the estimates then we had a homeowners meeting to approve the job. That took a couple of months. Ace won the bid and we let them know they got the job. They let us know they were busy and would fit us in when they could. About a week in advance they let us know they'd be there at 8am on 8/25. They graded and paved the road in a single day - which was terrific because it minimized the inconvenience for the homeowners in the subdivision. The road looks and drives great.

We had been contemplating a replacement of our driveway with either concrete or asphalt for a couple of years.   In addition to the driveway's poor condition, the height of the lip between the street and driveway surface was so steep that the underside of our new minivan scraped upon entering and exiting.  Replacement was long overdue.
Earlier this summer, Ace Asphalt removed and replaced a long, downhill driveway in our neighborhood.  The result was so attractive that it resolved any concerns about the ''look'' of asphalt verses concrete.   Ted, the owner, provided a very reasonable estimate.  He also devised a clever method to reduce the height of the lip without going into the public street which would have required city approval and additional expense.
The result is a beautiful, functional driveway that greatly enhances our home.  I enthusiastically recommend Ted and his hard working crew at Ace Asphalt.

It was excellent and I would highly recommend them. The only problem was it took a long time for them to actually be able to do the job.

 We initially contacted Ace Asphalt to schedule and meeting with them at our address to get a cost estimate for paving our 550' gravel driveway. While we weren't looking for an asphalt surface and we didn't know that there were other options to consider. Ted arrived on time, took a look at the driveway and garage apron, and asked what we wanted done to our driveway. We told him what we knew needed to be done - it had to be graveled and graded and then surfaced but we weren't sure what our options were at that point.  We told him we didn't want another gravel surface that would need more grading in the future but we weren't sure we wanted an asphalt road through our woods.  He reminded us that trees have roots and asphalt pavement doesn't respond well to tree roots.  He then told us he had a pavement option that wasn't asphalt or concrete and should work well for us, a tar & gravel surface that would serve us well under our trees and would have the appearance of a gravel drive and would stand up well to  residential traffic.  We asked him if he had any sites with this type of paving that we could check out. He gave us the info and the next week we drove over to Durham, NC and checked out a recent tar/gravel drive he'd paved for a homeowner.  After this visit we gave him the go-ahead to put us on his schedule. He showed up on Friday, Nov 8, 2014. the first thing he did was blow the leaves off the work area, then grade, level, and compact all the areas to be paved. He next began applying the tar to the garage apron area and spread the coarse pea gravel over the tarred area. He applied 2 layers of tar & gravel, compacting the gravel into the fresh tar after each application. Saturday morning he came back to reinforce the curves in the driveway with a third layer of tar and gravel and touch up any spots that needed work.  

Ted and his work crew showed up on time, did the work they were contracted to do and finished in the time frame they initially quoted me. I was very pleased with the work of everyone, I enjoyed watching my rough & ready driveway transformed into a very  smooth and enjoyable access to our home and garage. It was the perfect solution to our need for a driveway that complimented our place in the woods.  They answered our questions during their work, explained what they were doing at each step in the process and why they were doing it.  I learned a lot from them and was impressed with their knowledge and expertise.

I have given Ace Asphalt the highest grades and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone that is looking for a knowledgeable, honest, and  very experienced team of paving professionals that will exceed your expectations!

The contractor showed up promptly and did exactly what he said he would do. They left it clean and did not try to do more work than necessary or charge more money. They were honest and co-workers were great!
