They were FABULOUS! My air died on Sunday evening and I called Monday morning. Due to all the calls over the weekend they were not able to get to me until Tuesday morning. They arrived at the time promised and were courteous and professional! I would recommend this company to everyone!!!

The last 3 service calls I've had over a 4 yr. period showed nothing wrong except a sensor in the furnace preventing firing, apparently in reaction to the excess water vapor.I've used the bleach monthly or whenever I hear the little motor start running [other than at the end of a heating cycle, which is normal] and have had no other problems.

They're very good. I chose them because my brother had used them and he was very pleased. I got three different bids and his was the lowest and the most detailed. He took the most interest in assessing what needed to be done and figuring out why the old system wouldn't work and what to do. He was much more thorough. The brand of equipment he uses, Rudd, has the least frequency of repair. It's a good quality. He really paid a lot more attention on how to get things balanced and get it working right. It's been quieter and more efficient and I should have done it sooner. They also put in new programmable thermostats. I'm very happy. He really was amazing. He's a local firm and his employees have been with him for a long time.

When we bought our house we knew the 2nd floor and bonus room needed HVAC work done. Too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Also we did not like having a 14-year-old water-based heat pump AND a 75-gallon hot water heater over our heads. Hunter did a thorough examination of our existing system, completely explained what could be done and what needed to be done and alternatives, and provided a comprehensive estimate that broke out all the options. They were very professional, yet extremely friendly and courteous. They kept us informed every step of the way and went the extra mile during and after the work. They are now my go-to company for any HVAC work I need.

We had two old heat pumps. The outside unit went out on one, and the air handler (the indoors unit) went out on the other. Hooking up the still-functioning outdoor unit and indoor unit wasn't an option, as they were not size-compatible, so we had to get a new system. I had purchased an entirely new system for our previous home in 1996, so had more than passing familiarity with the ins and outs, but was to learn that significant advancements in the efficiently and environmental friendliness of equipment had been made since that time. I called Piedmont Electric for their recommendations as to the best H/VAC contractors, since they are excellent, and since I believe that "A-Level" service contractors tend to know, respect, want to deal with, and therefore recommend other A-Level service contractors (just like doctors). I cross-checked Piedmont's recommendations with Angie's List as well as with Consumer Reports' frequency of repair data for the brands of systems, because some contractors only install certain brands of new systems. After all, you absolutely need both a good brand of equipment AND a good installation. Three companies made the short list and seemed solid and professional. We received proposals and bids from the three. Mr. Hunter's proposal made the most sense, included equipment with a good CU freqency of repair record (Rudd), and was the most cost-effective by a non-trivial margin, so we chose Hunter Heating and Air. When Mr. Hunter saw our cooling system didn't work at all, and couldn't even be made to work temporarily for even 4 hours at a time, and that my wife was in ill health, his company called their customer(s) that was/were scheduled ahead of us, explained the situation, and rearranged their install(s) so they could do ours the next day! They got us up and running with cool air by the end of Day 1, and came back and finished the job on Day 2. They did an excellent job. We did have to call them about 9 months or so after the installation in August 2008. They came out promptly and fixed a small problem, which was to our knowledge not due to improper installation, and in any case was under warranty. The system has worked flawlessly since. My older brother needed a new H/VAC system a month ago. I recommended Hunter to him and, after receiving several proposals and bids, my brother selected Hunter. Hunter just completed installing a 2-stage, 5-ton heat-pump system including new theromstat and additional ductwork, and my brother is very happy with his new system.

Everything turned out fine with the new furnace. They were very courteous and careful while installing it for me. They answered my questions and offered a warranty on the furnace. My unit really keeps me warm. Their prices are also fair.

We have used these contractors before and will again whenever we need their service. Their employee was an extremely nice guy and an efficient worker. Our upstairs climate control works perfectly now. I highly recommend them to others.

The workers were easy to have around. They were prepared, prompt, and courteous. The quality of the furnace itself is excellent. They were also very contentious of their work. We have already recommended them to a family member.

I think this company is very good. Usually one person comes in the company truck with all of the equipment needed. I have been using them for a while and will continue to do so.
