Rotorooter Hickory NC. Had a leak in the ceiling of the basement. Sheetrock was removed when he arrived and all he had to do was replace a small section of pipe which took around 45 minutes. Charged over $700.00. I priced the fittings and pipe at lowes and those added up to around $20.00. This means they charge well over $600/hr. While there a restoration specialist showed up and he didn't know I overheard the conversation between the two of them. "Your not getting any money out of this job they are too cheap." I reached out to the manager who said he would look into it. He told me to give him a couple weeks. Sent several emails with no response.

If it had no stars this is what they deserve! RIP OFF!! Quoted me one thing & ran my card for over $1000!! 15 min fix to apply a female fitting onto a pipe! I was told one fee and after the 15 min job I was charged over $1000 Unauthorized!! I disputed the charge & bc I signed a waiver they took what they wanted! Due a ladder being needed I was charged $800?? DO NOT TRUST THEM! I ended up with a $500 bill and my $ taken in the end- the part is $2 at Lowe's btw! You do the math! They have ppl on Facebook recruiting ppl that need handy men so the add said then I was transferred to Roto Rooter

I had 4 small jobs and every one of them was a ripoff. The man knew what he was doing but his prices were from another planet. It's ridiculous to be that expensive. He was here anyway and those were very small jobs.

If you ever need any kind of plumbing done in your home, DO NOT use Roto Rooter of Marion. They charged us $180 for just 15 minutes of lazy service. This was a month or so ago. My toilet and bathtub are still severely clogged so I call them back and told them to rectify the problem because I should have a perfectly working toilet after I pay $180 and the sorry bastards hung up on me twice!

Work was done as expected, quickly and efficiently.

Still waiting for refund from Rotor Rooter . Apparently collecting from this company is more than difficult. Not a professional way of doing business ....

Snaked toilet which took care of blockage. Without trying to sell any more than the service we asked for, he said we needed to replace our toilets because of blockage over time from deposits in well water.

I call them on a Saturday afternoon after a tenant called me.  They told me I had an appointment for 2 hours later. I told them nobody was at that location and to call me when they were on the way.  They called me and I met them. On time and very polite and professional.  I will definitely use them in the future.

charged several hundred dollars just to run a camera through the pipe.

They cleared the drain, but warned us about the trees.

My dishwasher started backing up into my kitchen sink...Bad experience.  Called Roto-Rooter and they were there almost immediately.  Repaired, Replaced with prompt professionalism.  They are definitely on my future call list.

Roto Rooter did the job professionally and on the same day, but we were charged $399.25 to do the work.  Roto Rooter also gave us an estimate to replace the sewage lines with a clean out at the house and one at the street where it runs into the city sewage lines for $3,692.19.  The plumbers did tell us that if they got the job to  replace the sewage lines, they would deduct the amount we paid for cleaning out the lines.  Thiswould make their estimate come to the amount of $3,292.94.   We were horrified at this price, felt it was way too much, and couldn't afford this amount in today's economy.  We made a few phone calls  to other local plumbers that could do this type work and got more price estimates.  We discovered another plumbing company in Morganton does the clean out service of sewage lines along with the use of the video camera to check the lines for $150.00 instead of the $400 charged by Roto Rooter.  We also found a licensed plumber and had the lines replaced within a week.  Our savings by going with another plumber was $ 2,600, and the work is guaranteed.  He used the same pipe Roto Rooter said they would use, and placed a clean out both at the house and at the street, just as Roto Rooter said they would do.  We ended up paying only $565.00 for the exact same job using the exact type materials and the cost  included the price of the city permit.  We feel Roto Rooter is guilty of severe price gouging, to the same extent the oil companies do when we go fill up our car with gas.  I understand the need for a profit when running a business and the cost of overhead expenses, but not to this extent!  Never ever again will we use Roto Rooter nor give them a referral.  The cost difference was inexcusable.  That's not profit.  It's price gouging!  The only additional service Roto Rooter offered was throwing out some grass seed and straw  where the lawn was dug up, but I can do this myself for a cost savings of over $2,600.  No way can this cost difference be explained away. 

When I called them earlier they didn’t seem very interested in helping me with my problem because they didn’t think the problem was a plumbing one.  Their price seems to be a little higher than other places but I signed up for a contract with them because I wanted someone that was dependable.  If I had to do it over, I would probably find someone a little cheaper.

We have been using him all three years that we have lived here and this is a house with old and tricky plumbing. He has been always quick to come out and has always fixed the problem after he got here. I will use him again in the future.

The service call went great.  Their office called about 15 minutes before they arrived to let me know they were on their way.  They knocked on the door, identified themselves, came in, inspected the problem, discussed the solution, guarantee, and pricing with me, and after agreement they started immediately on fixing the problem. 

After fixing the problem, they inspected to ensure the problem really WAS fixed, went over the guarantee with me, accepted payment, and left.

They were quiet, organized, efficient, clean, and concerned with the quality of their work.

My toilets are flushable toilets again, and the (now sanitized) bathtub and (also now sanitized) shower stall are no longer cesspools.
