Aside from the vague scheduling window ("sometime between noon and six p.m."), everything went well. The service technician was very polite, and carefully listened to what I had tried to do to remedy the problem before calling for service. As I watched him work on the outside unit, he explained what the various components were, and their functions, as well as what the probable causes would likely be. He also performed a thorough visual inspection of the entire unit, as well as a pressure test for refrigerant. Turned out that it was just a loose wire and, before I could express my relief, the house was filling with cold air. Before the technician left, he made it clear that if anything else cropped up within 60 days, I would not be charged for an additional service call. Overall, very pleased.

Their quality is okay, I would give them an A for quality. I probably wouldn't use them again in future.

Comfort First worked to schedule an appt with my tenant as they are the ones that will be there. They showed up when scheduled and stated that they would need to do a leak test to find the leak. That would be $218 in addition to a visit charge. I said to go ahead and do that. I also provided my card information over the phone for payment on the quoted amount. When they went out to the site as scheduled, they filled the unit with refrigerant and noticed a pinhole in the coil. They contacted me and said that they decided to 'comp' me the leak test and the 5lbs of refrigerant would be somewhere around $520 (I honestly don't remember). They also quoted the price of the coil replacement around $1,500 in addition to the refrigerant. This is too much so I did not authorize the repair. I was also astonished that a company such as this would agree to a price and then go out and do something else other than what was discussed and charge $200+ more. This immediately put their honesty in question so I had them go out and reclaim the refrigerant. They agreed to charge me what we originally discussed. I had a different company come out the day the refrigerant was reclaimed and I am having the coil replaced a refrigerant topped off for 15% of what Comfort First wanted to charge!! This, for one reason, is because my entire system is still under manufacture warranty and I assume Comfort First never checked. Though every person I spoke to was pleasant, due to their business model of severely overcharging and not doing the job they are supposed to do, I can say I will never do business with Comfort First again. I will also share this information with those I know looking for an A/C company in the area.

I got the $49 deal for routine maintenance on our old air conditioner which we had never used since purchasing our home 3 years ago. It cools our FROG and we currently only use it for storage. I was amazed at how detailed the tech was in performing the service. Our old unit is just like New now. The technician Chris Frank is amazing. Do yourself a favor and make this your Go To company for all your heating and cooling needs.

No problem with the insta]lation and service within a year. Problem was getting maintenance response and service after the 2nd and 3rd years. Appears they prefer to install and not service long term..

"Thank you for taking the time to review our company. We apologize for not being able to respond to your request more timely. We have been short staffed in the service side of the business for quite some time. Efforts to hire an additional experienced service tech has not been successful to date."

I chose them mainly because they are very close to home. It is an old one and I am glad that they were able to keep it going. They just did their job and everything was fine. I guess the price was alright or I wouldn’t have them do it. I felt like he was honest. He was polite. He did write out an estimate for a new one but I am not doing that until this one is dead.

We noticed our a/c unit wasn't working well and the coils were frozen. There was also some water under the unit in the basement. We called Tommy at Comfort First at 8pm on a Thursday night, and he sent 2 of his colleagues out the very next day. They immediately found the problems - very low freon and a broken pump - and fixed them both immediately for a reasonable price. They were in and out in less than an hour. The AC is working perfectly now, fully charged with freon and a new pump. We will be calling them again to replace our entire system soon. You can't go wrong with Tommy and the guys at Comfort First!

Technician was friendly, professional. He explained problem very well on first visit. On the second visit with parts, he worked very hard and there was no idle time with this fellow. I just wished there had been a follow up call or something later on to see how everything was working. I did think the price was a little high. Of course has nothing to use as a standard, so that is just an opinion.

The crew showed up right on time- cheerful and ready to go to work. They even agreed to delay their start up date until a nest of baby birds had left their nest- they know that I am an animal lover!!! The owner, Tommy Cansler, normally installs Trane equipment but told me beforehand that he could install a reliable Goodman unit; thus saving me a substantial amount of money. He told me that this system would definitely take care of the needs of this four room house. And it has. The employees were all knowledgeable, efficient, courteous, polite and neat in their appearance. The secretary assured me when I called for a quote, that all their employees had been through a police background check. I trust this crew completely. I use the ductwork that they installed as an example of a perfectly installed duct system. I have even shown it to someone at Shurtape Technologies in China who was visiting America and wanted to see the correct way to install a duct system. The crew cleaned up all debris from the job site and left all the information with me on how the system worked. They even took me into the attic to show me the duct work and explained to me how it worked. This team is the best of the best!Stra

I called Comfort First on 8/6 to check a condensate leak. The nice lady who took my info said they were fully booked that day which was OK since I already had the leak contained and preferred the next day anyway. We agreed on the afternoon and that they would call before they came. At around 3pm the next day, the office called and let me know they were running a little behind, but would be there between 3:30 and 4:30pm. Mr. Cansler arrived at 4pm, was very nice and got right to work. He found the problem right away and went about clearing the clogged pipe. He also disassembled the condensate pump and cleaned it out well. I know from experience that some other companies would have wanted to replace the pump. He cleaned out the air handler and vacuumed the water out of the bottom of the unit. He also checked the outside unit and added some refrigerant. Mr. Cansler cleaned up everything and even added a clean-out to the drain pipe. Would definitely use Comfort First again.

The crew arrived right on time. They are exceptionally friendly and professional. They explained to me what they were doing and showed me where the light would be installed. They also unstopped a drain for me at no extra charge. When they were finished, they came inside wearing booties so they would not soil the carpet and explained to me how the light worked and reviewed the pamphlet and booklet that came with the light. They warned me to never look directly at the light because it could damage my eyesight. They answered all my questions and told me to call the office if I had questions or problems. It has been working, obviously, because I have noticed less sneezing and allergy symptoms the last several days. I am glad that I chose a high quality product and a professional team that does the very best that they can do every time. It is no wonder that they were just rated Hickory's Finest HVAC Contractor by the Hickory Daily Record!

The crew arrived a few minutes early. They introduced themselves and were as professional and polite a crew as I have ever encountered. They wore shoe covers inside the house and explained to me exactly what they were doing in understandable terminology. They made sure to place the registers where they wouldn't be blocked by furniture and explained to me their placement in regards to effective air flow. They even took me underneath the house to show me how the system works. I called them twice when I had problems with an old water heater, and they arrived within a few hours to repair it- once replacing an element and the next time a thermostat. Because of their expertise and concern, I got an additional nine months from the water heater. They are all so trustworthy that they have full access to my house when I am not there, including keys and my security system code. I have called the office on three occasions. Twice I did not get an immediate answer but the secretary, who is also extremely polite, called me back within three minutes. They fully integrate great service, great quality, fair prices, and integrity to make them a top notch organization.

Showed up a little ahead of time, very courteous, very professional, checked on several things, tested for leaks, flushed, drained , added refrigerant, In fact excellent experience.

I had had an HVAC man for approx. 15 years, he got cancer, this happened and I had no one to call. This is why I joined Angie's list. I got the name Comfort First from Angie' s List. Excellent experience. Will use the list again. Thanks

I had the outside unit of our heat pump freezing up-they came right out-charged the unit and inspected inside and out for leaks. It has worked perfect since then. They said it was probably since we just bought the house and were using the AC quite a bit and the previous owner probably never had it serviced. Great serice-great price and will definitely use again!!

Super nice guys at the shop and great service and price. Will definitely call them again if i have trouble.
