About us

We do both interior and exterior repairs of basements and crawlspaces. The approach we use to repair your home is based on the structure of the dwelling. We have been in business since 2000. As the owner, I do all estimates and am an active team member when it comes time to do your job, "I am a hands on boss." We provide our customers with detailed estimated, drawing, and pictures of the project. We do trouble shooting before we give you a price. "It's hard to price a job before you know what the problem is with the home." After 15 years you realize, every house cannot be repaired with just " 1 tool". We use the correct tool for the correct job. Some home need to be waterproofed from the inside, some from the exterior,a combination of the 2 or maybe it just needs to be repaired. Not every home needs a full blown waterproofing system installed to solve the water issue.

Mike Passman and Doug Moore investigated a Home I am selling. New. Just passed County inspects. The only positive reviews on these ppl is 7 years old. Check google and Angi They eroniously reported to buyers that the home has negative slope into the foundations on the ENTIRE perimeter. That water flowed into the home. Need to remove deck and trees they said. to fix the sloping on whole house they said. Gutter drains are a problem they said. HOWEVER, all slopes were measured hours after the left with the appropriate fall in all sides and 1 area was still being worked. Reported gutter drains as a problem yet all but 1 is piped out 10 to 30 fert from the home. They even noted 1 as Burried when it simply terminated at the French Drain he didnt even notice. Complete Incompetence in My Opinion as a Licensed contractor of 20 years. Their report was written on a Word Invoice as well. Extreemly unprofessional. Cant say it enough... Extreemly unprofessional

"I am responding to the comments from the builder. ( I will not be writing anything negative on his website. I am not stepping down to this level.) We did a waterproofing inspection on the new home at the request of the buyers after they had their own inspector check out to the home before buying it. This is common practice. I am going to always inform my clients of problems and potential problems. If they decide to move forward, that's between them and the agents. . I stand behind my report. All items listed were current issues and potential problems Most builder would have appreciated me helping identify issues before they became a real problem. If he would have called me, I would have helped him any way I could. Over the years I have helped many builders. We don't have to be enemies. Maybe we should try to do what's best for customer. For the record, I never received any payment. I also did not price the items for several weeks after sending my report. ( I only did then after being ask by agent of buyer. ) I knew before I ever went out there that the builder would want to fix these items himself. I also do not know this general contractor."

Unprofessional! After trying to schedule them to do annual maintenance to my French drain, they finally connected and told me what wad a convenient time for THEM to come. That arrived unmasked and when we asked them put get their mask one of technicians said “if I’m coming into your house I’m coming into your house.” When he was done I asked if he could fix a crack in my basement and he told me probably not, but he would get back to me. He also said I might need a new pump and let me know what later. I never heard from them again. If you want your basement dry, a pro is the way to go. Cheaper too.

"Your system was installed in 9-2010. We have been there numerous times since then doing your services. This is the first I have heard of a complaint from you in ten years. The service you are writing about was on May 28,2020. At the time of service we had just started back after the COVID shut down. I am sorry but most companies were operating on a delayed schedule at this time. We were and still have a waiting list. Your pump was repaired at time of service. The cracks in floor are referred to as spider cracks. We cannot fix this issue. At the time of service we were developing a protocol for dealing with COVID. I am sorry we failed you in your expectations. Most companies are still trying to meet everyone’[Member Information Removed] expectations. I am not going to argue with you but my technician recall of his punctuality and interaction are different from your [Member Information Removed] . Not sure what else I can say but for the past 10 years we have kept water out of your home. That is a great testimony for our work. Your complaint was sent 4 months after the negative experience. I really don’t understand why. I may have been able to better respond if I had known right after it occurred. Your system is under warranty so we will stand behind it ."

The worst contractor experience I've had in 40 years of home ownership. Contractor does not stand behind his work. Totally missed diagnosed my problem. Once I got a contractor that knew what he was doing I now have a dry crawl space! Job proved to be a simple fix. I promptly paid ($1,600) Basement Technologies of Western NC 2 days after they claimed to have solved my water problem. They fixed nothing! Spread some extra dirt around my foundation and claimed they would prevent water from entering my crawl space, It did not! Mike Passman asked for an additional $7,000ish to "really fix my problem". I had properly repaired for under $1,000!

It went very well, other than having to wait a few months for them to get to me. But that's probably a good sign. Once started, the work was completed in less than a week. The drain appears to be working and keeping storm water from flowing through my foundation. Re-seeded my lawn after all the backhoe work.

Mike understood the problem immediately. Jean earlier plumber had put in a water line. They didn’t seal the opening to the wall w/the new line. Water during heavy rains would travel through the “now-compacted trench” towards the house and into the house where the water line was installed & not scaled properly.

We are extremely happy and pleased with the work performed we would not hesitate on using Basement Technologies again. The whole experience was very professional and the initial estimate was exactly what we paid at the end. I highly recommend this company to anyone, they know exactly what they are talking about and won't try to overprice or sell you something you don't need.

My home is an older rancher. It was not maintained well through the years, and the lot allowed water to drain into the carport, slab, and crawl space. I purchased it in March with knowledge of water issues. We had a big rain in April showing me how bad it was. I met Mike Passman with Basement Technologies while he was working down the street from me in May. We made an initial appointment to discuss my problems and possible solutions. He came back again to survey everything and take measurements. He returned again to discuss his findings, with a proposal for repairs. He was already booked three months out. So I asked him to schedule my repairs. Work began the week of 9/14. We had a few unexpected surprises. Rain created delays and compounded problems. When those huge rains came on September 30, I almost had a flood in my family rooms due to unfinished grading. The crawl space was good! I called Mike and he came out to assess the new issue. I ended up digging my own defensive ditch in anticipation of a coming monsoon. Thank goodness it never came. When the yard dried out Mike returned to complete the job. I am confident that my foundation water issues have been resolved. And I would definitely use him again for these or similar repairs.

We were having problems with dampness in our basement. They came out and did a great job. They were extremely conscientious to work so we could continue to live there. They even drilled down 19 feet to create new dry wells to catch water. They cleaned up after the work was done and I have never had a better experience with a company doing a job of this magnitude. They were very professional and I would highly recommend them to anyone. They kept us informed on a regular basis of every detail of what they were doing and why they were doing. Amazing company!

My home is older (1950's) and has a combination unfinished basement/crawlspace.  Mike came by initially and provided an estimate.  His crew that performed the work was very professional and friendly and did a great job.  I'm very pleased with their responsiveness and with the quality of their workmanship.  Would definitely call them again if the need arose.

Our home is old (built in 1937) and we had water in our basement every time it rained,   Mike solved that problem.  He had to remove all landscaping and with the help of expert back hoe digger, Chris, dug 10 foot trenches in the front of our home.  He, himself, supervised and worked with his men who were very professional.  He gave us an estimate of $25,000, but because he found a huge 5 or 10,000 gallon old buried oil tank, which had to be removed, ended up costing us more.  There has been no water in our basement since he corrected the problem and this is a huge relief.  He also recommended a landscaper, Brandon Jones, from Garden Edge, to help replace the landscaping that was destroyed.  He was very easy to work with and takes one job at a time, so that he can give his full attention to that job. We were very happy with his work.

Dug hole outside of wall about 10 ft. Deep by 10 ft. Long by 4 ft wide.  Sealed all with liquid sealer and plastic sheets.  Also rerouted French drains.  Gave "lifetime guarantee."  So far, so good.  Estimated $2600.  Day before finish, Mike told me cost might be a little bit less than estimate, based on time and material.  It was.  I felt he dealt with me honestly.  So I would definitely call him about future problems I feel he can fix.l

He came and looked. He indicated that it might be from a Y'd drain line. He unhooked the Y and asked me to watch the result when it rained. He noticed that rain was overrunning a gutter and suggested that I get a gutter repair guy (Lutz Enterprise) to come & look at it. He refused to charge me for what he had done. When the gutter guy added a downspout he came back and connected a drain line under the deck, connect the air conditioning water overflow into the drain line  and ran the drain away from the house. Did clean, neat work. Arrived on time and finished quickly. Left no trash.
