Marvin Griffin

Marvin is a no non-sense carpenter who is very concerned that his customer is happy. He spent a lot of time discussing with us what we wanted. He is a one man operation but very skilled and particular about quality work. He was also much faster at getting the work done than I expected. Because our stairs are a little steeper that preferred, the depth of the treads were actually a little too shallow to really meet code. Everyone who looked at our stairs said it would cost a small fortune to redo them to bring them up to code. But, Marvin said "well there's a techniques we can use to fix them and make it like it should be" - and he was right. Now everyone who comes to our housed notices that our steps are great and feel right. And - it didn't cost us anymore (no small fortune was neccesary).
When Marvin was done, the whole stair system was "rock solid", and beautiful! Everyone who sees it thinks it is gorgeous.
As far a pricing goes, we couldn't be more pleased. Marvin was very careful to only charge for what was actually done and materials actually used. He was very careful with out money (quality vs. price) in picking out the fittings.
He referred us to Chris Barron to do the finish staining. He told us that Chris was the best, and he was right!
