Have built more homes and additions then can remember. It is always my goal to build relationships with my customers and meet thier needs. It's always a joy to complete a project and have satisfied customers our #1 goal. No job is to small if it meets your needs and improves your quality on life for you and your family. I'm a hands on builder not a breifcase builder you will always find me on the job, I have used the same sub-contractors for years having built relationships with them they know my demands for doing things right the first time,and I'm always available by phone or email to my customers night or day and weekends to answer any questions. Everything was built just as we had hoped. We were initially looking for some suggestions on how to repair our stairs leading to the front door as well as a small patio on the back. Daniel came out, gave suggestions and a quote. We soon made a date for the repairs. Daniel and his men arrived on time in the morning and were done by noon. I was more than impressed with the efficiency of the job. We even called Daniel the night before with a slight change and he was easily able to accommodate. We would highly recommend Mr. Lamper. We appreciate is honesty and integrity.

Overall experience was excellent. Mr. Lamper has a high taste level and sensibility which was of great concern when we had our first consultation. He thinks like the client, is very responsive and has professional sub contractors to do the work when he can't. He is a very experienced builder and general contractor and believes in the execution of a quality product. I am not a builder and I tend to be taken in by the aesthetics but even I know everything starts with the right, strong foundation. And that is what Mr. Lamper provides. And he wasn't scared off by a perfectionist like me even with fair warning. That isn't to say there weren't set backs, there were. Between weather delays and other workmen's personal issures we had our share. But Mr. Lamper addressed those issures right away even before I could and I was ready to, believe me.
Before our first meeting I had gotten 3 excellent referrrals for Mr. Lamper and I checked out each one. Then I went on line to do my research and asked personal friends about their experiences with contractors so I would know what to ask. I had a lot of questions during our first consultation and even more during our second consultation. I also had a very strict budget and Mr. Lamper respected that through the entire process even though, unavoidably, there were upcharges, all of which were my choice.
With that said, I would highly recommend him and would use him again in a NY second.

Due to my husband's stroke, we recently moved to Asheville to be closer to family and for the medical facilities. We needed a room and deck added to our home and tile flooring put into some rooms. We were fortunate to have found Dan Lamper through Angie's List. Dan and his subs have done a remarkable job building the new room and deck, and installing the tile. As a retired home building contractor, my husband has been extremely pleased with Dan's workmanship (as well as I). Dan is always personable, easy to contact, and prices are within acceptable range. We would highly recommend Dan to anyone.

We did not have a good experience. He did not follow through with what he said he was going to do. We paid him to come out and do a drawing for my son's house. He did not do it and then he told my son that he could not do the job. We would call him and then he would tell us to call in a couple of weeks. I understand that he does fabulous work and I do not think that he wanted the job. He did finally tell my son that something had come up and he was not interested. He was the only contractor that charged us to come out. I would not use him again.

"All I can say is WOW.Yes I asked for $60. for 2 hour trip charge and estimate up front when they called and they agreed because of the distance. I also said if I had plans drawn up it would cost about $300.00 no one draws a two story addition plan for $60.00. I spent several hours in planning and email with Andrew, and stated up front I wouldn't be sure I could do this job till Jan. as it turned out my customer I'm building a 2400 sq.ft. house for decided to add a covered screened porch a breezeway, and a garage to the job. Immediately told Andrew i could not do his job with this extra work my customers have asked me to do. I also suggested that the second story part was not the best spent money after which they decided to remodel the bath. And at his request to return the $60 I agreed if he felt I had not done enough for him at that point,(over 10 hours of driving and pricing and emails over seas) I asked for his mailing address 5 weeks ago, never got it. This is the problem with Angie's list when people you try to help by giving them your time, advise, when it doesn't work out we get bad remarks posted about us as builders, but to them there is no consequence to their future employment, just ours. This is why I work so hard to have good relationships with my customers, because this is what I do for a living, and I'm good at it 40 years and counting. My integrity is what is most important to me and my name, and to have half truths stated about me is just plain wrong. My work has always continued by word of mouth long before Angie's list was created and that says more then some review that can be written."

Dan Lamper came to my house to do an assessment of the work to be done. I was impressed from the start. He is a professional in his work, and I knew he would do a good job. When he discovered something that we didn't discuss in the beginning, he gave me several options and recommendations. The work exceeded my expectations. My wife and I will be calling on Dan again in the future. I recommend him highly.

Work excellant. As alway, Dan does good work at a reasonable price. I have used Dan whenever a have a problem in my house. If he can't do the work, he always provideds me with the name and phone number of another contractor to use.

He was punctual, polite, and friendly. He and his crew did an excellent job and cleaned up before they left.
He also added extra supports to the deck where the hot tub will be, and he did all of this at a reasonable cost.

I have used Dan any a variety of repair and building projects for over 12 years. He has always provided excellent service at a fair cost. I would recommend him to everyone, because if he feels that the work is outside his expertize, he will recommend another person to handle the requirement.

Absolutely wonderful. Dan is totally delightful to work with. Upbeat, friendly and conscientious. His work is beautiful. He did a great job matching the existing look of the house. I have a bungalow that was built in the early 1900's and I wanted the addition to look as close to the original house as possible. It does.
Dan does a lot of the work himself and was on hand to supervise any sub-contractors that he used. His subs were all great to work with also. Friendly and stayed on task.
I would highly recommend him for additions or new construction. He is very experienced and it shows in his work.
A couple of days after Dan finished my job a dog of mine ruptured a disc and had to have back surgery. I called Dan and he showed up the next morning and built a ramp for me off the front porch.
I can't say enough good things about working with him. He is just a really nice person, genuinely nice. You couldn't go wrong using him.

I've worked with contractors in the past and ALWAYS had the same experience--sometimes they would do what they said, sometimes they wouldn't. Sometimes they would be communicative/sometimes not. Sometimes they did good work/sometimes they didn't. But ALWAYS it's been a frustrating experience.
Dan Lamper remodeled our kitchen recently and was a total joy to work with. His price for the job was so reasonable that we didn't feel the need for a second quote. He was punctual, came every day until the job was finished, and always let me know what to expect. His work was really professional--excellent in fact. And he was so pleasant to be around that we regretted when the job ended.

Dan did a marvelous job with everything, our living room box-beams blend right in and our kitchen box-beams look wonderful. The heating and new gutters are standing up well to the winter storms, and our bathroom ceilings are fresh and clean. The new bathroom heater is wonderful in the winter, everything went smoothly and we are enjoying our renovated house!

Both the houses were truly customized because Dan's main philosophy seems to be "Please the customer". He has always responded to our phone calls and still comes when we need him.

Shortly after he repaired the windows it rained heavily and all of the leaks had been fixed. He is a very nice man and did a great job. He is coming back to do a follow up with me next week to check the windows.
