Dampier & Stephens LLC

Started off as a kitchen renovation but the job grew into a whole house renovation.  Mike and Rex worked with me for over a year from planning through final details.  All of this was done while I was up north.  I had daily contact with Mike to go over the days plans, he sent me pictures at the end of the day showing the days progress.  Of course there were a few hiccups but relatively few considering the distance, and they were for the most part resolved.  All in all the house came out beautiful and was well done .I am getting ready to start our cottage now and am planning with Mike the next job.

Mike was very punctual, professional and knowledgeable, and was a pleasure to work with.  If I ever need an inspection again, I will definitely call him. I recommend him.

I continue to use him because he's trustworthy. He's licensed. He may not be the cheapest but he knows his stuff. I'm having him do more work for me.

We required a modification to the shower in our master bathroom to make it handicap accessible and easier for my husband (a disabled veteran) to utilize. We received quotes from several companies, and Dampier and Stephens was the company we selected because they provided us with the best quality of materials at the most reasonable price. We had a budget that we needed to stay within and they worked with us to determine the best method to accomplish what we needed. They found water leaks within our walls as the remodel took place; they easily took care of all our plumbing problems. They provided additional lighting for the shower as well, as it was a dark corner. Even though we made a few other changes as the work progressed, they proved flexible and creative, always offering suggestions or ideas we had not thought of, and they never complained. They were professional, pleasant to work with and timely on all the tasks that needed to be completed. There workmanship was superb and they kept a very clean work area, which was important to us as it was within our home. We would highly recommend Dampier and Stephens for any type of construction job needed.

When my wife and I moved to Hendersonville, we bought a 13 year old condo. Being new to the area, we were a little bit apprehensive about hiring a stranger to do some work that the condo needed. A new-found friend in the area introduced us to Dampier and Stevens. A couple of weeks later we met them again at the Asheville Home Show. We were impressed with the apparent quality of their work and their friendliness so we asked them to do the work for us. Not only were they very professional but they made suggestions and gave us ideas that were very helpful to us and not necessarily good for their bottom line. In short, they treated us like friends. We are very pleased with our experience with them and will be using them again when we replace our kitchen cabinets and counter and bathroom vanities. We rate them as 'A' in all categories except price and rate them as a 'B' in price only because we have no way to compare them in that category. However, we feel their price was fair considering the quality of their work.

Follow-up on 6/6/2012 to the kitchen and bath work. We are very pleased with the results of their work. The toe-kicks on the new cabinets were not as far out as the old cabinets. Without talking to us about it, they put in wood inserts so the new toe-kicks would would extend out further and cover cover up an otherwise difficult to conceal gap. The miter cut on the counter top was put in perfectly. Having been in the new home industry for 13 years and having been a woodworker for more years than that, I know good and bad workmanship. (That didn't come out right but you know what I mean.) These guys are pros. We would gladly have them back again.
