We had been frustrated with looking at home resales with a real estate agent in Asheville. Prices were higher than we expected for small houses in town with no views, so we decided to take a drive out to Hendersonville to look up an area we'd seen online. We drove right into the Carriage Park sales office to get an idea of what might be available in new construction in close proxiity to Hendersonville. We ending up spending about 2+ hours that first afternoon, everything we asked about was finally starting to tick our requirements boxes. We could (finally) get a moderately sized lot with an unobstructed view of the mountains, with 5 acres of land directly in front of the lot so there would be good privacy on the view side. The price seemed more reasonable to us vs. the immediate Asheville surrounds which would probably run about $100,000 more for a comparable view property. Brendon took us through the areas already built to show us examples of the homes already built, talking about how each pocket had it's own space with no through roads. We also went into a home under construction and saw the different styles for various elements of the home finishes. We finished the day with putting a right of first refusal reservation on the lot we thought made sense to us. Brendon set-up a meeting for us with one of their preferred builders so that we could get a sense of what was possible with the lot for what price point. When we went back the next Saturday we met with the builder for 2 hours and then went back out to the lot with Brendon. There were several other people interested in lots so it was unfortunate but they were going to have to ask us if we wanted to put in an offer or leave it available for people who were coming in the next day and the following week from out of town. This was really a bit of a push for us as we had not been planning on making a decision that day, but they worked with us on price and they added addendums to help us feel more comfortable that our interests were being addressed. Two days later we did look somewhere else that we also loved, but when it came down to it, Carriage Park met 90% of our need and wants and stayed in our budget. The other property would have been $100 - $150k over when we were finished building. Even after we purchased an additional addendum was added to our contract to ensure that we wouldn't be waiting for services and registration of the plat with the town/county and that we would be able to start construction very shortly. We will be signing the final documents today and I feel comfortable committing to building in Carriage Park. The integrity of the developer is above my expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend them to other people looking for a great community.

Not good
Description of Work: We were basically bamboozled by Carriage Park. We were assigned a builder that could not get the job done.

We were in Asheville and had only one week to find a house to lease. We met the developer of Carriage Park on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning we returned and met with the real estate agent. That afternoon we were able to inspect the townhouse, currently occupied, and we made the decision to lease. On Saturday evening we received the lease application by email, followed by the lease agreement. On Monday morning we signed the lease and were provided will all the info we need to begin arranging for utilities ect. The entire process was so relaxed and yet so efficient. What a joy to work with which people of integrity.
Description of Work: We are relocating to the Asheville area and were looking for a house to lease while we looked for a home to buy. We drove through Carriage Park met the developers. The leasing agent was wonderful and arranged a visit to a townhouse that we are now leasing. His help was above and beyond our expectations.
