The opportunity to work with a design/build firm is a tremendous advantage over having an architect develop plans and then submitting those plans to builders for bids and construction. With Black Hawk, Ken Gaylord is involved in the entire process and any changes that were agreed upon fit seamlessly into the original design. Communications with Ken and the project manager were excellent. The construction process involved special attention to the energy efficiency of the finished house. This included insulation, quality of windows and doors, heating and AC sytems, utilization of renewable energy sources such as solar panels, with the resulting home qualifing for an "Energy Star" rating. Quality of materials and construction was excellent and the project was completed on time and on budget.

The entire project has gone extremely well. The architect, Ken Gaylord, drew up the plans, and his construction company, Black Hawk, executed the plans, making for seamless communications. I was kept fully apprised of the work at all times and felt quite comfortable asking questions and suggesting minor modifications. I felt I was part of the team. Black Hawk always showed the utmost respect to me and to my property. The work is superb, and the end product is even more wonderful than I had imagined. With vision, patience, and the highest standards, "my" Black Hawk team has guided me through an often difficult process to a newly-revived family home that is solid, healthy, environmentally conscious, and enduring.

There were two men at my house everyday until the job was completed. It started on time and ended in the time promised. I was very pleased and would definitely use them again.
