A & S HOME IMPROVEMENTS

This project was flawless from start to finish. We called Eric for a quote and made an appointment to look at the work to be done. He arrived at the appointed time and immediately understood what we wanted to do. This was important because we wanted to move walls to make our master bathroom larger. Other contractors either didn’t understand or didn’t want to undertake this change, but Eric was fully onboard and made some helpful suggestions as we discussed the job. He followed up this visit by providing a very detailed proposal covering every aspect of the job. After some discussion and minor modifications we signed a contract. All of this was done very professionally with the scope of work and the terms and conditions of the contract clearly defined. Work began on the date we were told that it would and it proceeded efficiently. Drop cloths and plastic sheets were installed first to protect our floors and furnishings. Eric’s crew completed the demolition and reframing in just a couple days, and the electrician, plumber, tile main, and painters were scheduled at precisely the right time so that the job never sat without progress being made. Workmanship was completed to the highest standards. I can’t recall anything needing to be reworked except for when I told the crew to install a towel bar in the wrong place. They happily returned and relocated it even though it was my mistake. The job was completed on time and on budget. There were no additional costs except for a couple changes that we requested during the job. In those cases the costs were defined and agreed to before the work was done. We would not hesitate to call A&S Home Improvements the next time we have a remodeling project and highly recommend them.

A&S Home Improvements recently completed a new bathroom at our home in Hendersonville, NC.  To say they were professional and easy to work with would be an understatement.  Eric's team of Arnie, James, Wayne and Doug were exceptional (hope I did not leave anyone out, but afraid I did!).  They did a great job and even unexpectedly did a quick clean-up before we had a Super Bowl party.  I never worried about them being in the house and felt comfortable letting them come & go as needed. We are very pleased with the new bathroom.  Without a doubt if we need something done in the future, they will be the ones we call.

Everything is going great. The work is not complete but will be in a timely manner. All we did was choose materials and A & S took care of payment and delivery. The cost of the project is all inclusive of labor and materials. We are glad we used A & S Home Improvements as recommended by our neighbors and on Angie's List.

We were 100% delighted with the job that was done at our house. Eric, from A & S, had to trace the source of our water leaks from the upper to the lower deck, pulling siding off the house in both areas where he found wet plywood along with mold. All this was properly dried and treated and new insulation added to the underneath side of the sunroom. When he was finished, everything was put back so one could not see that anything had been done. Eric and his helpmate were punctual, neat, professional and careful when they had to go through our house. Their pleasant demeanor made the job totally stress free for us.

Arnie and Eric were not the cheapest quote we got for our job, but they certainly were not the most expensive. What we got for our money was a beautifully done job at a reasonable price, as well as in a very professional and timely manner. Several of our other neighbors have also used Arnie and Eric's services, and everyone we speak with agrees: if you want assurance that a job will be done well by someone who is always on time, on budget, and sticks to their word, you need to call A&S.

I had architectural drawings prepared prior to requesting bids.
A&S provided a detailed list of tasks to be performed along with their bid for the cost.
Work started on time each day over the two week period and they took great care in minimizing the impact on our daily lives.  They regularly cleaned up sawdust and other scrap materials and quickly removed the material destroyed in the demolition phase.
They worked carefully and deliberately at all times and I was impressed by their professionalism.
The job was contracted on a fixed price basis but A&S was not tempted to take several shortcuts that might have increased their profit while providing an acceptable but somewhat lower quality final appearance or workmanship.
