Sachs Woodcrafts LLC is located on a farm in rural Vance County, NC. Louis Sachs designs and hand crafts various and unusual wood pieces into hand-turned bowls, platters, cutting boards, and other unique custom configured pieces. Each item is individually hand crafted, so that no two pieces are alike. All are designed, dated, and numbered, adding to their character and charm.

Sachs Woodcrafts offers three types of bowls. Segmented bowls start out as blocks of wood such as yellow heart, oak & maple glued together with a spiral twist. Natural edge bowls are cut so that the bark of the tree remains as the true edge and is treated with tongue oil that locks the bark to the edges. The last is a solid wood bowl. These pieces can sometimes weigh up to forty to fifty lbs. when first mounted in the lathe., padauk (red/orange) purple heart, walnut
