Johnnie was very cooperative; helped us decide what needed to be done to replace our front porch as well as awning; he worked very qucickly and consistantly; his prices were reasonable and his workmanship outstanding. will highly recommend him.

They did a great job. They addressed 10-12 different areas in a day. They were reasonable in price. They were punctual. We spoke to them in January and they were not able to get out until March. It worked out okay because it didn't need to be done immediately. It did take a little bit of time to get to us. Once we set the date, they were there right on time. They were very professional and stayed on the budget they gave us.

I am sorry to say I would not use Mr Duffy again nor recommend him.
John took 6 weeks to complete the job due to personal travel & a knee injury.
Although John does have skills - he was quick to make sure he did not do anything that he might not be paid for -
since I never objected to paying - this attitude was not needed. Due to his personal situation he seemed to rush the job - work was poorly done or undone as a result.
EX: He charged an extra $200 for two hours to paint the railings brown on the deck - maybe 26ft all together.
The paint he used on the railings was shiny latex and due to the Florida weather (rain & humidity) it never completely dried - it began to peel off within days. It has continued to come off anytime something touches the railing surface..I sent him a text with picture the next day after he completed and asked for a solution - he did not reply. He had moved to North Carolina.
I am disappointed for these & other reasons - including my need to repaint the entire 12x24 deck myself as the paint Mr Duffy used in his addition did not match the sealer already on the deck. He explained the sun had lightened the existing deck but that did not turn out to be the case. I really hoped the job could have looked more professional when completed. I wanted a great back yard to entertain in. For what it cost I should have that.

On the day I called him he came over that afternoon. I pointed out what I needed done & he took notes. My major issue was not a roof leak, but rainwater coming down the roof & splashing between an uncaulked house exterior wall & window. He did rectify this where a previous (non-Angie's List) contractor couldn't come up with a solution. On the front of my house, the left side roof eave) had peeling away & rotting facia board. Duffy worked on it. On the right side, his work looks more like wet sand dribbled down to form sand castles. Residents of Marina Bay have pointed this out to me several times. His worker was assigned to paint over areas where the former contractor didn't. But, after the job was completed, I saw white painted smudged thumb prints in 5 areas; on a dark blue outside front door & the rest over a light yellow gold wall paint which is no longer available. Finally, Duffy did not do several tasks & suggested (no quote) that he would get them next time. There won't be a next time. I'm going to have to give his work at 70%.

I would not hire him back. I was too quick to go on Angie's List and rate him. He did not do a good job; as a matter of fact he did it wrong. It was so bad every once in a while the door would fall off or else I could not get it open all the way. He might be good in some things but in carpentry work he is not good. I had to have a contractor do the door over again in order to fix it correctly. In my opinion I spent way too much money but he was a nice guy. He was here on time and seemed professional.

He was supposed to fix screening for me and he was working on it one day and he told the renter’ that he would be back the next day. He didn’t show back up and he never told them that he wasn’t going to show. When I called him about it he said that his father was sick and the job was too small so he was not going to come back. I also asked him to fix some electric in the kitchen but the tenants still had the same problem after he was done. He also didn’t order the windows early enough to get them installed before the new tenants moved it. He did do nice carpentry work however. He is really nice guy but doesn’t seem to ever get anything done correctly.

This was a very positive experience from start to finish. When I contacted Mr. Duffy for an estimate he came right over. He then told me the type and size of doors to order, and provided a written estimate for the work via e-mail. He showed up right when he said he would, and worked on the job full-time over a couple of days. He brought in other people to help cut the proper opening in the concrete wall and to replace the interior tongue in groove paneling, supervising their work the entire way. My wife and I are very pleased with the quality of the work performed. Plus, he was a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Johnny Duffy.

It was done quickly and satisfactorily. For the price, I wish he had offered to prime and paint the repair, but he did not and I did not think to request.

Johnny is punctual, professional. The quality of the work is excellent and it seems there isn't anything that he doesn't know how to do. I am particularly pleased that he and his crew completely clean up after themselves. They didn't leave a speck of dirt behind. He even through in a few extras for me. While he was here, one of his crew used their blower to clean off my drive way, he drilled in new little 'feet" on a piece of furniture and hung some art work on my outside stucco wall. I plan to have Johnny back to resurface my garage floor and apply a new coating to my pool patio.

I called John and he gave me an estimate and pictures of the deck showing the deck boards were loose. After removal of the boards John sent me pictures of the condition of the under structure and a change order increasing the price as the under structure was in very bad condition and had not been properly constructed. I was not happy but that was not John's fault. He completed the work and the deck is basically a new deck.

He arrived on time, did the work non-stop, cleaned up and left. Extremely personable & professional. You would have never known he was here except my chimney looks brand new.

Overall, Mr Duffy and his apprentice did an excellent job rebuilding my garage roof. The final
appearance of the roof compared to what existed before was at least a 200% improvement.
I believe Mr. Duffy derives a great deal of satisfaction from seeing the end product of his labor
and being satisfied that it meets his standards. I think he approaches the job with an emphasis
on craftsmanship rather than making the almighty dollar. If I paid more than necessary for the job,
it was worth it to me to have Mr Duffy take his time and get every rafter attached squarely, etc.
The roof, after he decked it and before the metal was applied, looked very flat, no undulations or
unevenness. The ridge looked straight. I never felt Mr. Duffy rushed to finish the job.
The job took about 2 weeks longer than I expected to be completed. Some of that may be due
to the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons and perhaps other jobs he was co-working.
Mr Duffy listened and responded to my suggestions such as installing radiant barrier-backed
decking. It was easy to discuss alternatives with him. Once a proposal was agreed upon
he handled the permitting process with the city and accepted payment in stages with
final payment withheld until after inspections were complete.
I expect to do more business with Mr. Duffy in the future. I enjoyed working with him..
