Thomas Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning

I had used Mr. Thomas before. He is kind and jolly. Because I used him before and his rate was $65 a hour for a complicated job that took nearly a full hour. This time, he was done in less than 15 minutes--it was a simple job (running an industrial snake through a clogged drain). I was stunned when he handed me a bill for $150. I told him so. He went through this whole song and dance of saying his son is going to go to dental school and he had to pay for him. Well, my husband is in graduate school, too, (and we are paying for it ourselves) and I didn't think it was fair for him to arbitrarily price a job based on how much money he wants for his son's education (his son is 30, by the way). So, totally call this guy if you'd like to help subsidize his son's advanced degree. At this point, Mr. Thomas is charging more than a dentist would for work--so, the joke is actually on the son for going through all that schooling to earn money. He should just go into business with his father.
