Michael'S Floor Service

The night before the install, we moved everything from downstairs either upstairs or into the kitchen, since the floor in there was not being replaced. When the installer arrived, he removed our carpet, and in the process, he tore a chunk out of our door. When my wife and I confronted him about it, he tried to say that it was already like that and actually suggested what I probably did it. I can't even phantom how he could have thought that would make me feel better. After a bit of back and forth with me asking him to replace the door, and him saying he didn't do it, he finally gave me $30; as if I can replace a broken door for $30. Then, when he went to open the laminate we had ordered, it was found to be completely destroyed from water damage. As a result, the laminate had to be reordered and we had to live in a house that had been completely turned upside down for a week. I realize that the laminate was ordered from another company and probably arrived damaged. It would have been nice however, if someone had taken a look at it before they tore out our carpet and made our downstairs unlivable for a week. Once Michael returned the following week with the laminate, things went much better. He was polite and friendly and finished the job quickly and even ran my speaker cables for me. All in all the project was a success despite the fact that I'm not going to have to get that door replaced on mostly my own dime.
