Computer Geeks began as all great things do: with a simple idea and the motivation to put it into action. In 1995, three friends from Farmville, NC started out in their garage working on computer systems and custom building personal computers. They realized that computers were a growing necessity for individuals as well as businesses and opened the first retail store in 1996. This first store included a retail storefront, gaming center and in-store service center. The business continued to grow and a new location was opened in Wilson, NC in 1998. In 1999, the Winterville, NC store required a move to a bigger location where computer training was added to the list of services that Computer Geeks offered. They now offered new computers, accessories, in-store and on-site service as well as new training services. In 1999, as the internet became increasingly important to everyone, Computer Geeks saw the opportunity for a new company to help supply this need. They started a dial-up internet service company called Geeksnet. In later years, high-speed internet, website design, web hosting and other internet services became available through Geeksnet as well. Currently, Computer Geeks has one store location in Greenville, NC. They have been locally owned and operated for 17 years now and continue to provide in-store and on-site service, sales of computers and computer accessories, web design and hosting, Off-site data backup, Voice-over-IP phone systems, cabling systems, email encryption service and most importantly: friendly, reliable service!!
