Auto Body Work
I called American Auto Body Inc. to schedule repairs after completing a repair quote with their shop for some damage to my car. I had used their shop once before for some paint work only to a prior vehicle and was happy then. The appointment was 3 weeks later on Jan 28, 2019. When I arrived at 7 am for the scheduled appointment, it was discovered that the receptionist had failed to put my appointment on the schedule and parts had not been ordered. I accepted that mistakes can happen and rescheduled for the following week on Monday, Feb 3, 2019. Repairs services were to be finished in 4 days. I was emailed on Wednesday, Feb 5 and told the vehicle should be ready by Thursday afternoon. Mid-day on Thursday, I was emailed and informed that reassembly would not be completed until the following morning on Friday. Friday I was emailed and told the headlight assembly ordered was not correct for the vehicle and a replacement headlight assembly #2 was ordered for delivery the following Monday and reassembly should be completed that afternoon. On Monday, I was emailed again and told the supplier sent the wrong headlight assembly and reorder #3 was to arrive on Tuesday. Emailed again on Tuesday and told that box was labelled for the correct part but package contained the wrong headlight assembly again. Headlight assembly #4 was ordered and should arrive on Wednesday for completion that afternoon. Emailed Wednesday and told the delivery did not arrive and they had no explanation why, so I called to get an explanation for the delays. They had no explanation and said they had no control over the delivery of supplier parts. When I asked if I could expect some discount from my bill, they refused. I was called Thursday and told headlight assembly did not arrive with no explanation why again. I was called again on Friday and was told they contacted the supplier to track the shipment (finally) and it was discovered the part was received in distribution center in Charlotte, NC but never sent out for delivery to Greenville, NC. Headlight assembly finally arrived Feb 18th. Their front office personnel showed no concern for the delays, they showed no desire for correction, nor took any responsibility for the issues and did not attempt to change my obvious dissatisfaction with their service. In my opinion, they missed several opportunities to address the situation with their supplier and certainly could have saved this customer with a small discount on the bill settlement. Buyers beware with American Auto Body Inc. in Greenville, NC.
