Valley last year. During that process, they were expert, responsive, and
thorough. We were especially impressed with the fact they reengineered
the system for performance and efficiency rather than simply sticking
new equipment in place of the old. Their personnel were friendly,
informative, and very respectful of our home and privacy.
The new
system has made our home far more comfortable - both temperature and
humidity control has been tremendously improved. We have also seen
substantial savings on utilities - both electric and gas. What had been a
consistent source of trouble and expense in our home is now a source of
comfort and savings.
A top rating would be justified If this
was the end of the story. Just recently, however, the compressor failed -
apparently a factory defect unrelated to any of the work by Advance
Mechanical. The part is under warranty, but the manufacturer would not
pay for labor to replace it because the install was just over a year ago
(and the manufacturer's "labor warranty" is only 1-year even though the
part warranty is 5-year). This was no surprise to us, the specifics of
the warranty were explained to us when we decided on this equipment.
Advance Mechanical, however, decided that this scenario was not
acceptable and replaced the compressor at their own expense - we didn't
even ask them for that!
Clearly, we are pleased and very
satisfied with our decision to engage Advanced Mechanical. Indeed, we
are relieved that we found a capable and reliable company that takes
pride in their work and reputation. I hope this review will help other
people make a similar choice.

Technician arrived on time and diagnosed the problem quickly. He explained how much the part cost, and upon my approval of suggested fix, he left and came back within 20 min, installed the part, and now my heater seems to work fine.
Since I know absolutely nothing about heating and air, I'm pretty much easy prey for all unscrupulous heating and air service providers. I did, however, research the diagnosed problem, and found that I would be a fool to try to fix it myself, even if I could get the part.
I didn't call around for prices after having been given a price while the tech was standing there in my house, so I can't say whether or not it was a good price or a bad price. The cost of the part itself on the internet looks to run anywhere from $100-$125. I was charged $90 for the service call, and $325 for everything else combined. The tech spent about 2 hours at my house. You be the judge. I'm happy with the technician, who seemed to know what he was doing and definitely maintained a professional demeanor throughout.
The staff are timely, professional, polite and efficient. The furnace & AC unit I ordered on
Thursday, October 27 was delivered, installed and working on Thursday November 3rd. They had to install a new pad under the unit to make sure it was draining correctly. They also removed and installed the unit without disturbing the fencing that screened the unit from view. When I had another workman crawling under the house and he discovered a pipe had come loose from one of the bedroom vents - Advance Mechanical was there the next day to repair it. I have had three maintenance visits and appreciate that they call ahead to schedule - if you are not present, they leave written documentation of what they checked and what the status of your unit is.Very helpful and professional - I would recommend, highly.
