Sixteen years ago when I moved into my house, I was very impressed with this company. One year ago when I recommended them to a friend, I was not quite as impressed. I was there helping during the move, so I know how it went. But due to having different guys, different owners, etc. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Regarding my recent experience: The person answering the telephone at their office got some information wrong, including the address of the new house and my email address so I never got the estimate until I called back to make a change on the moving information. And she still did not correct the move TO address. The movers were polite and easy to work with; however, they were either somewhat inexperienced or unwilling to listen to my suggestions regarding an easier way to remove my furniture. I explained to them that the previous time the movers brought things in through my back door, which only has two steps and the door opens wide, back on itself to make it easier to get large items through the door; I even opened the door to show them. I let them know they could park their truck on my large flat driveway, which is in the back of the house as I am on a corner lot. However, they ignored my words and chose to leave their truck on the street in front of my house and take things out the front door. It was much more difficult because the front door only opens 90 degrees since it's next to a wall, there are six steps to go down, and I have a storm door, which does not open quite 90 degrees. Several large items barely went through the door and they had difficulty with things hanging and getting caught on the door frame. I was afraid they would damage my storm door and they did cause some minor damage to my furniture like scrapes and scratches. And one leg on my sofa was completely ripped off, thankfully I was able to fix it myself. Then when they were ready to get my riding mower, piano, washer, and dryer, they did bring the truck around to the back and I could hear things falling that had not been secured. I was concerned for the men as well as my mower because the truck did not have a hydraulic lift to raise the heavy things up to the truck bed, the four men lifted my mower and it was all they could do to get it up into that truck. I was expecting a hydraulic lift since there was one on the truck when my friend used them last year...and I do not understand why they did not send a truck with one on it, especially since I told them about the heavy items that I would be moving....they just sent four men instead of two. They also pushed my piano up a ramp at a very steep angle and that was very difficult for them to do as well. Those men worked VERY hard, but they needed better equipment to do their job better, easier and to ensure better care of the customers' belongings. I bought them lunch and gave them a tip, which is included in the approximate cost I have listed. I must also say that they did not charge me for the fourth man. I cannot recommend this company, but I am sure there are worse movers out there.

Fantastic. The crew was great. They took great care of our personal items. My piano was a bear to move and they did it with out a scratch.

I want to take a moment to describe what an awful experience I had with a local company. I moved recently and had to pick a moving company. I went with two men and a truck. What a mistake. They took a simple 2 bedroom move and turned it into a 16 hour nightmare. They did not show up the morning of the move. When I called them they said I was down for a different day. I explained I had confirmed just a day or two before and had a letter with the days date on it. They half heartedly apologized. Said they would have some one come to move me between 12 and 1. They were supposed to arrive between 8 and 9. They did not arrive until 230 in the afternoon. When they showed up they did not have the inventory correct or tools at all. They spent hours on a ping pong table which I listed first. They said it was not in the list. They made me sign a document stating it would take longer but at 3 pm I had no choice. I tried to call the office but they closed at 2 pm. So now I am stuck because I was moving to a new apartment and had to be there before 5. The guy I called said I did not know you were on a time limit. I explained it would not have been an issue if the had been there on time. He said just leave the movers they can lock up and return keys. The movers asked for a tip upfront and seemed p***** they had to do another job. When I left they said it should only take about 2 hours. They called me at 545 and said they were almost done and would be on the way. When they did not arrive 1:20 minutes later I called and they said they did not have any tools and it was taking them linger but would be on the way in 5 minutes. They did not show up until 8:30 pm. When they arrived I did as much work as they did and had to hustle because time was mounting. One guy seemed really over it and was just half working. So I paid them to do a half job and for me to work just as hard. During this experience I was emailing the company of all updates. I told them I was not happy about the additional time because the guys were not forthcoming about the amount of time or what was taking them so long. When they arrived they said finally the looked in my tool box and got a hammer. So how long did they just sit there? At $110 an hour? When they finally left around 10 pm I paid because I was so exhausted I just wanted it to end. I had been up since 6 am getting ready for them to arrive at 8 am. The office staff and manager seemed to not take it seriously. It took about two weeks to even get a return call from the district manager. When I did she explained that they were using my situation as attaining scenario since the whole thing was botched from beginning. To end. But this took weeks and multiple calls on my end. She finally offered a 110 refund. Lol. I spent 16 hours in this nightmare and weeks trying get resolution and my time is worth 110 bucks. I told them I was trying to hold down a new job and could not mess wih this anymore. I tried to have my mother act on my behalf and the lady was rude and said she could not discuss it with her. This companies logo state "movers who car". That is the biggest joke ever. They were a disaster and treated me like I did not matter at all. I say since this company thinks it has more customers than it can handle and service or satisfaction does not matter then I say choose someone else. Choose anyone else. Find a company who thinks your time is as valuable as theirs and that truly does care
Response from Two Men And A Truck
"member name removed] was given an estimate for 4.25 hours at 110.00 an hour with a 110.00 destination fee. The estimate total was for 577.50. A mistake was made with our schedule and [member name removed] was not on our schedule for the day. When she called our office we told her we would send our first crew available when they complete their first job of the day. When our first crew came in we immediately sent them to her. When our men arrived [member name removed] added items to the move that she did not mention during the estimate call. Our men had [member name removed] sign an addendum that it would take approximately 2.5 additional hours to complete the move. Our men completed the move in 6.75 hours and collected payment of 852.50. [member name removed] signed she was satisfied that the move was completed. She sent an email that she was not happy because the move took longer than the original estimate and our men arrived late. I called [member name removed] and told her because we were late we would take off the $110.00 destination fee but she had added items that cause the time to increase she said that would be fine. The next day a lady came into our office and said she was representing [member name removed] and spoke to our office manager. Our office manage told her she would have to speak with the General Manager. The lady called here the following day and told me she was her mother and they were not satisfied with the amount of the discount. I explained to her that I could not discuss the issue with her without [member name removed] approval. She asked when we could because [member name removed] had to be at work by 8am and our office did not open until 8am. I told her I would come into the office early that Tuesday and would be glad to meet with them at 7am. They did not show up for our meeting that Tuesday. Our office did make a mistake with the time of destination and we took off the amount for the destination. [member name removed] added items after the estimate was complete which added to her move. The move was completed within that time."

Overall a very excellent experience. The workers were prompt, courteous and attentive to detail. They went to great lengths to protect our furniture. They worked heartily and even completed the job one hour sooner at a price lower than the bid.

They took a little longer than the original estimate, but they worked consistently while completing the move, and wasted no time. They also moved mattresses and two appliances to the street for pickup the next day. Professional, polite, pride intheir work.

They got off on the wrong foot, but it ended well. The truck arrived an hour late because two of their employees were unavailable for whatever reason. But, the company owner went the extra mile in getting the move done, showing up HIMSELF and moving my furniture with his employees. This included even very heavy items, such as a 250+ lb treadmill.
They were very courteous and careful with my items. The move went very quickly, and since Two Men and a Truck charges based on time, the actual bill was $100 less than the initial estimate.
Overall, I would definitely move with Two Men and a Truck again.

They were really, really nice. We were really happy with that. They were real thorough, they knew what they were doing. It was really good, they gave me all the information, and then they sent it to us through email too.

The guys were phenomenal! They did it really fast and they worked really hard until they got things done. I would say that the movers did most of the work except for the money that I was giving. Their price is fair.

The men were on time and ready to do the job. The piece of furniture was quite large. They were very careful bringing it downstairs. They talked to each other about executing the plan, how to handle the curve in the stairs. They were excellent and I will use them in the future.

They were deliberately slow and did not flat load the truck, and in the end tried to charge me triple the quoted estimate. Several items were damaged and hardwood floors were scraped. The men were unprofessional and spoke to my pre-teen son about their sexual escapades. I will never use them again.

I scheduled the movers 3 weeks in advance. They called to say they would be late - which ended up being 4 hours late. There were only 2 guys - one had been on the job 6 days and one for a couple of months. They were certainly NOT expert movers. They were nice, but very slow. We helped move beds, tables, chairs etc to speed things up. They broke a desk which wasn't a big deal, but the manager was terrible in how it was handled. They should have sent more help. They guys were tired, sweaty and stinky. It was after 8pm when we should have been easily done by dinner. They knocked off $100 but it should have more since we did a good chunk of the labor, they broke a desk and were late. We had already moved the small stuff, all clothing and the entire kitchen, so it should have been a quick easy move.

They were just great and we couldn't have asked for better. We dealt with Linda but I don't think she is there any more. We really looked at everybody else. We would recommend them.

They were great – so cool. They were very reasonably priced, on time, covered everything protectively. I had heavy furniture and they worked well with it. They were worth it!

Their service was excellent. They were prompt and showed up on time. They do what they say they're going to do and were flexible. They moved as much or as little as I wanted them to do and they charged appropriately.

They fixed the furniture that they broke. They were lazy. They took advantage of me by only taking out one piece of furniture at a time.
