Southern Evergreen is a true Design - Build firm. Some will say we are an Architecture Firm that builds our designs. Some say we are a construction firm that designs what it builds. "Design - Build" is a unique business model. It means that each member of our team participates in the ENTIRE process - our entire team is involved in solving your problem and following it through to completion. The net result is that we have assembled a team loaded with expertise from disparate fields, but that expertise is combined in a firm with a unified design sense and a unique way of working with clients. Our team includes a licensed Architect, interior designer and historic preservationist, engineer, general contractor, 3 Realtors, and 5 craftsman including a 3rd generation mason, carpenters and framing experts. Depending on the size and scope of the project, we generally only subcontract out to electrical and plumbing experts because those trades require licenses that Southern Evergreen does not carry. We have great, long term, relationships with our subcontractors, material suppliers, and wholesalers. We always offer a complimentary site consultation to help our team understand the dreams, goals, and budget of their project. We also provide complimentary budget analysis services. We offer our Architectural and Interior Design services with fixed or hourly fees. Each member of the Southern Evergreen team is a Certified Green Professional, a designation of the National Association of Home Builders. We also have considerable experience regarding Energy Star certification for your new or existing home. We bring knowledge and expertise to your project, treating your home as a whole system, not just a series of components, from the foundation, all the way to the roof. Consideration of the environment is paramount to the Green Building process. Although your project may not be eligible for the ENERGY STAR or Certified Green programs, we incorporate the basic "concepts" of these respected programs into every project we participate in. It is our standard. We are also Lead Paint Renovations Professionals. No firm in North Carolina may perform, offer, or claim to perform lead paint renovations without certification from the North Carolina Lead-Based Paint Hazard Management Program (LHMP) - as administered by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health, Health Hazards Control Unit (HHCU) - unless the renovation qualifies for one of the exceptions identified by the law.
